tonybonneyba Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Hello! This thread is to keep you updated on what is happening & planned public events at the Downpatrick & County Down Railway & The Irish Traction Group, Downpatrick based. News: I'm sure you have already heard about A39® in her new (amazing) livery, which was painted by one man (at most of the time). Next Public Event: The next public event at DCDR will be the Mince Pie Trains, which is (I think at a tradition) a diesel hauled train day, so, if you like heritage diesel trains & mince pies, this will be a fantastic day out for you. This will take place on January 2nd, 2016 For details, see downrail.co.uk or Facebook.com/downrail Quote
jhb171achill Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 Will the new beauty be on duty? And - I'm presuming it's the standard timetable, perhaps without the 1700 departure? Quote
tonybonneyba Posted December 26, 2015 Author Posted December 26, 2015 Will the new beauty be on duty? And - I'm presuming it's the standard timetable, perhaps without the 1700 departure? If your talking about 458, unfortunately not, as she's in a refurbishment program, if your talking about ITG's A39r, I don't know. 1400 being the first departure, 1700 being last departure. DCDR has the right to cancel, suspend & or delay any service with out notice Quote
Garfield Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I don't think the Castle Class could ever be described as a 'beauty'. A Black & Tan A class on the other hand... Quote
jhb171achill Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 I meant A39. I'd have to confess to being amongst those who might see 458 as "the ugly duckling"! (....running for cover in case Tony throws a railcar at me....) Quote
UP6936 Posted December 26, 2015 Posted December 26, 2015 On behalf of DCDR I'd just like to stress that this thread isn't an official advertising channel, and would draw your attention to our website, and our Facebook and Twitter presence for up to date news on our operations. Thanks! Quote
