Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out with rough times of timber and liner workings in and out of Ballina/Westport? Heading out that way next week for a few days and hope to photograph some workings.

I think one of the liner trains leaves Ballina at 08:15 in the morning. Not sure of other times for freight.

IWT liner departs Ballina at 11:40 Monday/Tuesday and 08:15 Wednesday-

Friday subject to change at short notice,

DFDS liner departs Ballina at 11:05 on Tuesday and Thursday,

Timber trains depart Ballina at 11:05 on Wednesday and Friday,

 

IWT liners generally arrive in Ballina at approx 16:30 on Monday-Friday,nearly guaranteed.

DFDS liners and empty timber trains arrive between 19:35-20:00 on Monday and Wednesday,

 

Laden timber departs Westport at 11:05 on Monday with an empty timber arriving on Friday evening at 19:35.

To add to what Ttco said, WED IWT departures are 08:15(as required) and 11:40( every week).. Also there is a Saturday service both ways depart ballina at 08:15 and arrival at 1600ish..

If you are still down there Monday week(27th June), there is a 27 wagon trial train going down to Ballina
