  1. Thanks Steven! Glad you like the Gatwicks. As for the eBay listings, the pictures will be making an appearance over the next 12 hours or so. Watch this space
  2. Just to let everyone know that we've recently released the transfer packs below: "]#5786: Tara Mines wagons "]#5787: Tara Mines - early logos "]#5789: Solebar detailing (works overhaul codes/dates/etc) #5791: Concrete cement bubbles - early variants #5792: Concrete cement bubbles - later variants #5793: Pallet / curtain-side cements #5794: Bogie cements We are absolutely confident that we will not be beaten on either price or, more importantly, quality. The numerous folks on this forum who have used or seen our transfers will be able to vouch for the superb crisp and solid colour print quality (many examples can be seen on Anthony's workbench). Initially these have been released in 4mm scale but we are gradually getting round to also releasing them in 2mm scale. You can view and purchase these packs by clicking the link below: Railtec Models We will continue to release more packs very shortly, eventually covering the entire Irish market.
  3. Hi Iarnrod, Railtec Models are just about to release a series of new packs in its Irish range, of which the cements will be included. Our transfers are printed in crystal clear accurate detail in full solid colours, going above and beyond to eradicate any blemishes in the printed article and placing specific focus on their durability both when soaking in solution and also once applied to the model and varnished. We are 100% confident that we will absolutely not be beaten on quality. In fact, we've just exclusively started supplying to Just Like The Real Thing in the UK and Pete Waterman uses Railtec transfers on his own personal layout. Please IM us privately or email "info AT railtec-models.com" with details of how many wagons you intend to model, and we will endeavour to meet your needs. Details of our existing Irish range can be seen by following the link below: http://railtec-models.com/catalog.php?type=5&gauge=4mm&xfer_region=2 Thanks,
  4. Ditto that. But if you want them unweathered then you might need to pay him extra
  5. It doesn't seem like almost 5 years since I took this photo, but thought it might be useful to share for posterity. I understand the East Lancs Railway purchased this as a source of spares for its Hastings "thumper" unit. I have no idea what became of this 80 class vehicle as I don't recall seeing it on my past couple of visits. Luckily the folks at the ELR are a very friendly bunch and didn't mind me clambering all over it with a tape measure, even if it was a while before one of them piped up with, "Ahh - you're one of those transfer people aren't you?!"
  6. Ah, I hadn't realised it was your good self George; what a small world this is! Hope you were no less than delighted with your numerous purchases.
  7. Looks fantastic George. When the time comes for decals, feel free to get in touch as we've done a few bits of 20t and 30t examples before. We do a ton of Irish work, not least for the unstoppable Anthony who many of you I'm sure know (in fact we're his sole supplier). Just look at his workbench for examples of what we can do :>)
  8. It also depends on the light in which the paint is mixed. Paint mixed in bright daylight will inevitably be slightly different to paint mixed under artificial lighting, then you get variances between folks on the day shift and those on the night shift... It's a mine-field but at least it gives modellers some artistic license! I recall there was recently a photo in Model Rail of 2 Gresleys (I think) which were outshopped from the same works within a few days of each other - noticeably different shades.
  9. Some more suggestions: boarded up windows and painted out numbers:
  10. Very nice job; love the smashed windows. There's always a danger of going overboard, but of course it's personal preference. I've photographed a lot of withdrawn (albeit British) rolling stock and I don't recall seeing many without graffiti of some description. There are some transfer packs ranging from simple tagging to the more elaborate artistic variety below: http://railtec-models.com/catalog.php?type=5&gauge=4mm&xfer_region=2&xfer_type_trackside=1 ...Personal choice but they may just finish the job off. Some graffiti can be heavily weathered whereas other examples can be left relatively untouched, thereby giving the impression that the vehicle has been languishing for quite some time and "decorated" over a sustained period. Other possibilities may be to accumulate rubbish or other odds and sods in the doorway area. I've seen numerous withdrawn coaches which have effectively been turned in to storage of all manner of things. If you're feeling adventurous you could also model a coach with fire damage. Hope this helps!
