  1. If I was on the Hiab control's I'd be hoping the bloody Overhead is off.
  2. Cheap motor connection wires......... Go to your local charity shop and get a couple of the old Scart leads take home and strip. Desoldering braid, can be obtained by stripping old Coax aerial lead. Scale fuel delivery hose, Thin shoelaces Caravan thin plastic fly screen works as various in different scales, chain link fence etc, cutting off a single line makes barbed wire. Concrete rebar in N Old window blinds, The curved metal ones coach and van rooves, the more modern wooden ones lots of thin hardwood. Fishing line lots of uses just ask your local angler for old part spools. Dettol makes a good paint stripper but is more forgiving on plastic.
  3. Thing is I've met Portillo during the making of one of the UK episodes. I was on the team providing the vintage transport for the day. I was not impressed at his general Aire of aloofness over us mere mortals and generally expecting things he asked for to be done. Edit Like driving the wrong way down a one way single track estate road (still open to public coming the correct way) as it "put a better background in shot"
  4. I am unable to find anywhere else to put this so I'll start a new thread, Last night on UK BBC so on catch up and IPlayer at present, We do not normally get this on the mainland so grab your chance. 7. What gauge and how many axles?
  8. Yes As he says he knows what it is. A money tree if somebody is stupid enough to buy it. like the seller "Gostude" any item that is not boxed and fully documented or has an R number is obviously Rare and expensive. But really they do not have a clue. Just look at his listed OO TT 009 items (all describing same thing?) even if they are old (1960s) Gem 5.5 items.
  9. He doesn't seem to be getting the message.
  10. I told him. I do not know what it is but it not CDR The type is wrong they never had an 0=6-0 The Gauge is wrong it should be 12mm The colour is wrong. His reply. New message from: atmodels18 (470) Hi Don't need you to message thank you I know what it is!
  11. Kit Built OO Gauge County donegal railway joint Committee | eBay Do not know who the seller is trying to kid here. I sent a message to tell him and got a snotty reply saying he knows what it is! Just wish he would tell the rest of us then.
  12. Yes. As already stated. But those of that use this scale don't use them, as they have no auto uncouple feature, and are hard to use. Most use proprietary Greenwich, KD;s, Bemo, Peco couplings.
  13. The paint supplied is slightly darker than on my screen at least. The Donegal style railcar (Long Cab and Articulated body are knock off copies of the old Anbrico unit but you do not get the wheels or trucks that you used to.)
  14. hi Colin County Donegal here
  15. @jhb171achill It would be useful as we don,t yet have confirmed sizes.
  16. Thanks @airfixfan We have the artwork, it;s just that the photos do not have a scale ruler on them so we need the sizes.
  17. just seen this but be quick Murphy Models MM0135 C.I.E class 121 diesel locomotive. Grey. No B135. Boxed. | eBay
  18. Already posted here
  19. Asking for help, This has recently been posted on the OOn3 forum from our resident transfer maker. Dear all, > > I hope to print some railway crests soon. Could someone please confirm > sizes for the Donegal roundel, Great Southern garter crest and IOM > logo? > The artwork is almost ready to go, but the photos I have been working > from do not have a scale alongside! > Simon @ Old Time Workshop Anyone got the answers?
  20. Reply is out of production for last 20 years or so.
  21. If they are Ill have some too.
  22. The large casting Is a frame end with the coupling hole in the centre, the other end (lowest right piece in close up) does not have the dropper parts. The kits for the other 2 wagons had frame ends cast in resin.
  23. Right then, To start with if the wheels will move on the axles then yes, just move both wheels in by 3,75mm to give a narrower back to back. If they are plastic wheels moulded as part of the axle your a Turkey at Christmas to start with. A convenient check gauge is the long side of the Earth pin from a UK 3 pin plug, but you have to get it central. (So as not to unbalance the wagon). Then again a standard UK mainline wagon will look quite large for OO9 (00 scale on 9mm track} for UK use, some Continental, South African, Australian stuff ran larger loading gauges, on 2 foot gauge but size wise you are nearer to OOn3 (00 on 12mm track) for 3 foot gauge prototypes (eg. Irish Narrow gauge and the Isle of Man, ) than anything that originally ran in the UK But as the main reason for UK narrow gauge was limited clearances and tight curves, a large piece of rolling stock is a major drawback. To get more of an idea about 009 and other narrow gauge I suggest joining (Just click on the above)
  24. Find a Towbar centre. or car spares (Do you have HALFORDS etc) The cable is sold by the meter, and you get 7 colours (Including red and black.) just strip the outer. For thinner wires, A charity shop is the place to go, Old SCART cables have up to 20 cores and only cost a few pence each when stripped out.
