  1. hi Colin County Donegal here
  2. @jhb171achill It would be useful as we don,t yet have confirmed sizes.
  3. Thanks @airfixfan We have the artwork, it;s just that the photos do not have a scale ruler on them so we need the sizes.
  4. just seen this but be quick Murphy Models MM0135 C.I.E class 121 diesel locomotive. Grey. No B135. Boxed. | eBay
  5. Already posted here
  6. Asking for help, This has recently been posted on the OOn3 forum from our resident transfer maker. Dear all, > > I hope to print some railway crests soon. Could someone please confirm > sizes for the Donegal roundel, Great Southern garter crest and IOM > logo? > The artwork is almost ready to go, but the photos I have been working > from do not have a scale alongside! > Simon @ Old Time Workshop Anyone got the answers?
  7. Reply is out of production for last 20 years or so.
  8. If they are Ill have some too.
  9. The large casting Is a frame end with the coupling hole in the centre, the other end (lowest right piece in close up) does not have the dropper parts. The kits for the other 2 wagons had frame ends cast in resin.
  10. Right then, To start with if the wheels will move on the axles then yes, just move both wheels in by 3,75mm to give a narrower back to back. If they are plastic wheels moulded as part of the axle your a Turkey at Christmas to start with. A convenient check gauge is the long side of the Earth pin from a UK 3 pin plug, but you have to get it central. (So as not to unbalance the wagon). Then again a standard UK mainline wagon will look quite large for OO9 (00 scale on 9mm track} for UK use, some Continental, South African, Australian stuff ran larger loading gauges, on 2 foot gauge but size wise you are nearer to OOn3 (00 on 12mm track) for 3 foot gauge prototypes (eg. Irish Narrow gauge and the Isle of Man, ) than anything that originally ran in the UK But as the main reason for UK narrow gauge was limited clearances and tight curves, a large piece of rolling stock is a major drawback. To get more of an idea about 009 and other narrow gauge I suggest joining (Just click on the above)
  11. Find a Towbar centre. or car spares (Do you have HALFORDS etc) The cable is sold by the meter, and you get 7 colours (Including red and black.) just strip the outer. For thinner wires, A charity shop is the place to go, Old SCART cables have up to 20 cores and only cost a few pence each when stripped out.
  12. Coming from an electronics background, I have 2 Weller Iroms (So I do not have to wait for them to cool down before changing tips), A Hot Air Rework Station and temp controlled Iron. For modelling purposes I also have 3 small gas powered Torches/Soldering pens (Again for changing tips). And a Chefs Creme Brulet Torch (Usefull for laminating coach/van side etches with low melt solder paste) I could do the above repair in 2 minutes. My previous answer was based purely on how the question was asked.
  13. The silver glue (previously called silver paint and used for repairing tracks on PCBs or the heated rear screens on cars when they get scratched) will conduct electricity when dry but is useless for a physical strength bond. the alternative is low melt solder and an oven (but that may not be practical in this case) more suited to large circuit boards and chips than parts enclosed in plastic cases.
  14. Let me guess "The Tram Stop" on the run of units by Laxey Tram Station
  15. Enjoy it, I have just got back from there after a 10 day stay for the celebrations.
  16. Add me to the customer list (If they are) and fairly certain that @Lynbarn would be interested as well.
  17. I'm going for the TRANSPORT FESTIVAL WEEK at the end of JULY If you are there next week you are going to be a bit disappointed. https://www.iombusandrail.im/media/2711/iom-year-of-the-railways-2023-event-program.pdf
  18. Is this the one at Ordsall, Old photo if it is Gate is now like level crossing and there is a signal in the yard.
  19. TK's were low (Remember they used a derivative of a pre 2nd world war Chevrolet straight 6 Petrol engine, Also used in the ubiquitous Bedford O 'Type) About the same height as a modern Transit. KM's were a bit higher, Same cab but wider wheel arches.
  20. Although not brisk all the production runs of the Irish 00n3 done by Pete McParlin did sell out (Albeit some quicker than others) Current state of sales by Nevil Kent is as follows. model railways - Backwoods 00n3 Irish range (n-driveproductions.com) As stated lack of suitable wheels is the reason for loco's not yet appearing, (And first having to sort what all the moulds and parts therefrom when made applied to which kit as Pete had not labelled them,) Though I have been lead to believe Pheonix and the Railcars are due soon.
  21. @BomberCountyModels The kits are due to return, They are now under the ownership of Nevil Kent (NDrive) From your screen name I guess you are in Lincolnshire. (Welcome to the forum by the way.) I'm on the Nott's and Derbyshire boarder ( Near Worksop but do get about ) myself and have quite a few CDR models (along with other Irish stuff and Isle of Man ). If that one is for sale I would be interested.
  22. @DJ Dangerous 12mm gauge track is readily available from Peco, Shinohara, Bemo, (All HOm. )and now Hornby (TT 1:120), there are others Tomix (TT 1:120 Tram style inset in roadway segments ) etc. 00n3 is starting to be talked about again, Rolling stock kits from Roxey and Branchlines for IOM, Loco's from Branchlines. Irish rolling stock where do you start Parkside Dundas (and some members only from the 009 society) plastic kits for the T&D Plenty of Brass scratch aid stuff From Worsley Works covering a vast range of lines for locos and carriages, With the old Backwoods Miniatures ranges and Nineline's ranges having now been taken over and reintroduced by Neville Kent NDrive who intends to provide some RTR mechanisms as well as the kits. Other mech's can come from Mark Clark Loco's N Stuff Primarily a 7mm provider (But does do things in 12mm gauge) Halling Motor bogies can always be hidden by skirts on a tram loco or frames on a diesel. (NOTE LINK IS TO MY FAVOURED SUPPLIER OF THESE UNITS, OTHERS ARE AVAILABLE). Also with the advent of 3D printing there is a myriad of other stuff out there. If looking for vintage kits then Southwold, Rye and Camber and other systems were also covered. Take a trip over to 00n3modellers@groups.io Colin replied while I was typing.
  23. Hi Killian, They look nice, Only thing I will say is don't bother with the chopper couplings. ( Other firms already make them but to be honest they do not really work well at this scale. ) Most of us that are working in this scale gauge combination just use proprietary 009 couplings Mark.
  24. Try about 4 days ago I saw these at the weekend. when all the coaches and gen van were still at the 99p start price.
  25. Given the fuel tank size on an 08 ( 668 Imp Gallons / 3037 L ) either they fill up a lot as they only carry 6.9 hours worth of fuel, or someone has the figures wrong on the usage per hour.
