Here are some videos I took this week of Ballina/Westport and Waterford freight trains. I managed to get all four DFDS trains and both Westport trains. They are listed in the order they were taken. Sorry about the shakes in some videos, the horns startled me:ROFL:.

More pics of the new mk2s on the Model Shop Belfast's Facebook page.

The yellow panel, I like because it's in the style of 112 and not like the big type on 113. I prefare the yellow strip than the yellow face on the 071s.
I can't see the side UICs lasting with weathering, look how they have to keep the side numbers clear now and they are much larger font. I think they will still get their old style numbers added to the sides at least.
If the yellow panel was slightly lighter yellow and rounded like the NIR locos it would look okay. I think you may be right about the numbers, lets hope so anyway.

Hi lads,
Can anyone recommend a brand or type of oil suitable for lubricating 00 gauge locos and also where to apply oil on MM 201s. I have an MM 201 that I bought in 2011 and it hadn't been run for about 8 months after it was run after purchase. The loco does a lot of stalling and the cab lights flicker when turned on. The wheels also squeak so that's what led me to believe it may just need to be lubricated but if anyone else thinks something else is causing this please say so. Bare in mind it is a DCC layout with recently laid brand new track and I also cleaned the wheels recently.

I saw a video of 234 pulling the DFDS liner past Cloneygowan , Co. Offaly earlier and there is a report on boards.ie saying "083 on a empty timber from Waterford at Kildare.
073 on Ballina-Waterford DFDS at Kildare.
Both are running behind schedule as they all should of departed earlier.
Two further 071's operating to Heuston, looks like one failed didn't see the numbers."
Does anyone know what has happened to the DFDS liner?

The model shop Belfast have some new pics of the 071s on their facebook page.
For once I'm slightly tempted to buy a factory weathered loco.

Brilliant photos! 075 caught me by surprise also, I didn't get my video but I did cycle beside it for half a mile:ROFL: Needless to say I was an hour early to film the timber train.

Hi lads,
I took these videos of the recently revived DFDS liner this evening on the Lavistown loop in Kilkenny and at a level crossing a bit down the line as it was too dark to film the liner without lights by the time it moved off the loop. The liner arrived at the loop at about 5:50 and finally departed at around 7:05. Thanks to ttc0169 for the times/days of operations of the DFDS. Sorry about the big shake in the first vid, I was zoomed in when the driver blow his horn.
Seán.

I always love these videos. Those have to be the most realistic Irish oil tankers I have ever seen modelled.

Nice work,
where did you get the tail lights?

Looking good Kirley.

There is a video on youtube of the last TPO train and had two 42"7' wagons behind it. It was a documentary about the Dublin/Cork TPO train but the footage may have been taken earlier from another mail train. There is also a video on youtube showing 62"9' wagons in Limerick loaded with containers.
