  1. Heard a rumour weed sprayer is working Waterford to Rosslare and back tomorrow first thing in the morning.

i did hear the same rumour about the weedsprayer on the Rosslare line later today. I think its 077 definetly a grey one though.

Looks like its 071:doh:, think i should have looked at wanderers page before commenting. She sounded sweet while i was stopped at a checkpoint across the river from her.

    Any idea on times?

  2. Guy being interviewed was Wayne Thomas from the Wexford MRC, terrific modeler

The vid is from their trip to Warley some years ago

I think this layout has been scrapped

Absolutely sound fella he his too, man that was a good layout if only i had known it was up for disposal i would have given it a good home.:((

  3. Yea I have hornby coaches from 1988 lol

Theres a fella on you tube EWS 60008 who added centre sections to the older hornby coaches to get scale length mk3's but i don t think its the best way to go. The lima coaches are easier to repaint as the roof with glazing pops out of the body which makes masking off a lot easier.

If your looking for egv's silverfox do rtr or kit ones, Studio Scale models do egv kits which just require a donor mk 3 and a bit of patience to do the conversion. For paints phoenix do the correct orange in a tin or a local autofactors will mix the colour for you, just ask for ral 2011, normal matt or satin black will do for for the black stripe.

For decals Studio scale models offer a set for a whole rake and do white stripe decals too, railtec offer the same.

For inspiration look at shinkansens workbench as he done probably the best rake i ve seen in a long time.

If you need any other help along the way just ask :D

  4. I regularally saw her over the years and she always seemed to be one that stood out in terms of sound. When she was announced by P Murphy she was top of my list to get, bought 2 in the end. All my 201's are Munster/ leinster river names just waiting on 230 to complete my fleet.

201,202,204,205,209,212,215,220,223,226 and please please:praying: Mr Murphy may i have River Bandon

  5. The Intercities do it for me. That multiple shade of green, grey and silver was a divil to paint. So to get a new model design, central can, flywheel, dcc, louspekare, uberfine detailing and scalpel fine paint job all rolled up for less than 200 squid? Heaven.

Even better when they had proper munster river names on them like River Suir and Anner, thanks to your decal packs:cheers:

  6. 225 suffered damage to the cowcatcher, panelling, headlamp assembly, buffers, air system piping, brake system piping , wiring, bogies, diesel tank, caws equipment, hep equipment and air reservoir tanks. This happened after a fatal accident involving a tractor at a level crossing.

  7. I'm 99.9% sure i won t get down the sound route. I was not impressed with it in 2007 when i had a few UK locos fitted with sound and to be honest i haven t heard anything so far that would change my mind. Don t get me wrong i like the locos but can t justify spending €100 plus on a sound decoder for even one or two of my locos would prefer to spend it on some more rolling stock or even another loco.
