  1. First time reading this thread. Just a few days ago I repainted one of these coaches into UTA livery. Cheers Darius
  2. Roof fan aperture drilled out. I used an A1 Models etched Class 37 grille - after all it’s an EE locomotive. I also added A1 Models etched horn grilles to the nose. Cheers Darius
  3. Actually this is fairly straightforward. The hardest one was the Class 55 - straightening up the original banana-shaped body was certainly challenging. Cheers Darius
  4. Fettling, filling and sanding. The original paint finish must have been brush applied judging by the finish. I filled the gaps and sanded them along with the paintwork generally. I added strips of thin plasticard at cantrail level to provide a neat roof to bodyside interface. One coat of primer later… Cheers Darius
  5. Obtained from eBay and in need of some tlc. The body is mounted on a Lima chassis that has been modified to kind of fit… The chassis is longer than the body - one of them must be wrong… In any event the chassis will need to be shortened to fit so that the fronts of the bogies don’t stick out past the nose. Some of the roof parts are sitting too high. These parts were held in place by single dabs of solder, which were carefully ground away using a Dremel enabling them to be easily removed from the body. Sanding and fettling followed to improve their fit. Cheers Darius
  6. MTK locomotive roster. Classes 40 and 44 to follow… Cheers Darius
  7. Some more UTA coaches - MTK corridor 3rd and repainted Bachmann LMS coach. Cheers Darius

  11. MTK Corridor Third on the bench. Cheers Darius
  12. Maybe it’s to form an ersatz barrier to discourage people from accessing or otherwise falling into the gap between the sloping ends of the units. Cheers Darius
  13. Hi Patrick, I use HMRS pressfix lining decals. You cut out and peel the lining away from the backing sheet and place it sticky side down where you need it. After that you apply water with a brush to the tissue paper covering and peel it off leaving the lining in place with no carrier film. It’s a lot easier and much less stressful than using waterslide decal lining. You can make sure the lining is straight and in the right place before applying the water. I used pressfix lining for this Ratio LMS coach. Cheers Darius
  14. Another Dapol suburban coach repainted. Cheers Darius

  17. Lining decals and light weathering to finish. Repainted and finished a Dapol Suburban coach at the same time. Cheers Darius

  23. Not yet. MTK LMS coach repurposed as a UTA (ex NCC) coach. White metal coach ends cleaned up and glued in place. Plasticard strips used to reinforce the joints.. “Standard” chassis made from plasticard sheet and Plastruct angle sections. I used the MTK trusses but replaced the MTK bogies with Bachman LMS bogies. Roof detailing next. Cheers Darius
  24. Thanks Patrick. I get the most satisfaction out of rescuing and restoring a model that would otherwise have been discarded. Light weathering to finish. Cheers Darius
  25. Decals and other details applied. Cheers Darius
