Some Bachmann and Dapol LMS coaches transformed into NCC coaches. Removed the printed LMS markings and numbers and affixed Railtec NCC decals. Replaced the Dapol plastic wheels with metal wheels. Fitted smaller tension lock couplings. Painted roofs dark gray. Light weathering to chassis. Full disclosure: the coach numbers are random and so very unlikely to be correct for these coaches - before anyone takes the trouble to point this out… Cheers Darius

Well, if the message is clear it will be 18 months or so before the “announcement” or possibly the “delivery”, so I think they will hold their value for a bit of time yet. I enjoyed making my Black and Tan one. Cheers Darius

Depending on how much work you are prepared to put into them the Silver Fox C Class can be made into a reasonably presentable model. For me this involves adding details such as separate wire handrails, buffer beam hoses and some weathering to tone down the usually over bright paint schemes and chassis. You could try a factory reset of the decoder by setting CV8 to 08. It will then default to the factory settings and have loco address 3. Cheers Darius

And that decoder is definitely a sound decoder and not a “non-sound” one? In other words it made sounds when you ran it the first time after you fitted the decoder? Cheers Darius

Did you buy and fit a sound chip yourself or did you buy the loco “sound fitted”? As I recall, as issued the Murphy Models 071/111 were DCC ready so you had to fit a suitable decoder for DCC or DCC Sound. They were factory fitted with a speaker though. If the chip fitted is definitely a sound decoder you could try checking the connections of the speaker. Cheers Darius
