  1. One area of improvement that I feel is needed on Campbell Riverside is some form of lighting pelmet. As I have seen mentioned in other forums, exhibition halls vary in the lighting available and also where you are located with your layout makes a big difference. Another plan I have in mind is to possibly make the single track high level road extend into the fiddle yard and through the back scène to the back of the layout, the idea being to have a loco or short train shuttling back and forth using a time delay. This would ensure that there is always something running on the layout, irrespective of any operation on the main scene.
  2. I have just found some pics that were taken at Enniskillen last September. Regards
  3. Hi all, Here are a few pics of my Campbell Riverside layout at the Portlaoise last September (14th). The following weekend 20th September I took it to the Erne model railway clubs exhibition in Enniskillen. Apologies if I have already posted some of these pics. Regards
  4. Hi Westport. 7)A CDU is recommended/essential? That depends on what power source you are using. I am using an old laptop power supply for my point motors (Seep) and that has plenty of power. If you use the tapping's from a conventional controller then a CDU may be advisable. 8)Electrofrog points are the way to go with DCC. Again, using a PM1 motor, can this be wired up to power the frog and look after polarity? Any thoughts or comments on any of the above would be welcome. I use SEEP PM1 on my layout and I have modified my peco points so that the seep powers the frog polarity depending on route set. Regards
  5. Hi, Welcome to the world of railway modelling. In the first instance I would recommend that you have a look at a few model railway magazines first for some inspiration, Railway Modeller, Hornby Magazine, Model Rail and British Railway Modelling (BRM) are all quite good. Also some track plan books may be of use ( I have some if you are interested). Also you have come to the right place here, as there are a lot of modellers who can help and advice you.

  20. You may like to try this for your transfers, http://georgedentmodelmaker.blogspot.ie/2013/01/klear-ing-things-up.html The original is no longer available , but according to George Dent, the latest replacement is not too bad. It is ideal for brushing on and does not leave any brush marks. Hope this helps. Regards
  21. Very nice pics there, Not been down to Ballina for a while myself, should really make the effort and get some pics myself, I'm about 40 mins drive from Ballina. The station layout looks like it could have potential for a terminus to fiddle yard layout, I think I have a track plan somewhere that was published in Railway Modeller a few years ago. Regards.
  22. Looks like we have run out of Steam....
  23. Open to reasonable offers for these. Regards
