    I had an unexpected few hours free this evening, so I started adding details to the building, including period advertisements, vegetation and weathering, and I also ‘frosted’ the lower panes of some of the windows. I have some Irish travel posters which a friend is printing for me and I will hopefully add those tomorrow. I’m thinking the derelict end of the building might have been over done a bit…..

    Getting back on topic before this thread descends further into the sewer….. The toilet block is now finished, and I’ve added a small bit of weathering. I’m not going to bother decorating the outside rear wall as there will hopefully be a small shed there and some vegetation. The toilet block is based on one which I saw in a photograph of Aldergrove station. It’s good to be approaching the end of this build, just the booking hall interior and platform canopy to go, along with some more general weathering and small details eg. posters, advertisements etc.

    Today’s work is more a matter of convenience. Mr. Weaver is dying to spend a penny so he hopes the builders get finished before things get awkward. Amiens Street have just released funding which can be used to improve toilet facilities on station platforms. I suppose it could be called a flush fund….

    Have been working on the station nameboard today, complete with a suitable ‘nautical’ accessory! Also been working on the forecourt side canopy above the entrance door.

    Ernie - am leaning towards Irvinestown rather than Kesh for that photo above - I was at Irvinestown earlier this year and the layout fits, with the steps up to the loading bank and the siding between it and the platform where the photographer is standing I think?

    Work is busy at the moment, but here are some pics of recent work on my ‘Clogherhead’ station building. Platform elevation doors installed and I have added a bit of darker green to parts of the wooden glazed panel, to match the doors. I have also been working on another important item…….

    Superb - looking forward to this one. Although when I saw the title I got a bit excited - was hoping for a large attic room with a finescale O gauge layout depicting one of the GNR's jewels! Blue 440s, black 440s and 060s, mahogany (or was it teak?) carriages and a plethora of assorted goods stock. And of course the venerable SLNCR 064s with the railcar and railbus.......

    Loving the views of the Bundoran branch. Kesh seems to have been largely ignored by photographers for some reason. A friend of mine lives between Kesh and Pettigo and is adamant that the Danske bank in Kesh was the railway station - I haven't had the heart to correct him as yet......

    It was an excellent production - a few minor glitches but otherwise very nicely done, with a particular emphasis on the large number of children among the victims. A particularly poignant touch was the featuring of a character who was based on the statue (on The Mall) of a young girl holding a bucket and spade. Nicely done overall with many 'lump in the throat' moments. Well done to all concerned.

    At last I have the opportunity to attend the acclaimed dramatic production 'Impact' which tells the story of the Armagh railway disaster in 1889. I shall be there this Saturday evening - the production is taking place at the Market Place Theatre in, appropriately, Armagh. https://marketplacearmagh.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/873637762 I shall of course provide a report afterwards! Looking forward to this very much.
