  1. Sorry to hear this Andy. Castlederg was the star of the show at Cultra - and thank you for taking the time to chat to everyone you met, that makes it all the more enjoyable! Looking forward to seeing pics of Courtmacsherry.
  2. Nice to see you JB - that was a mammoth effort to get to Cultra and back! Agree with the above, would also add that generally speaking, the light isn't great in the gallery, for an event like this, as I found out to my cost when exhibiting Ballynahinch Junction back in 2010. Most seasoned exhibitors now know to bring their own lighting but a few new exhibitors were caught out a bit today, as I was in 2010. Highlights for me were Andy Cundick's sensational 'Castlederg' as well as the LEGO model of Lisburn!!!
  3. And the award for the funniest forum post this year goes to.............
  4. Same - started off encouragingly but hasn't lived up to expectations. Am holding off to see 'The Mother of all Layouts' to be built by the winners.......
  5. As a dedicated steam fan I have to be totally honest and say......I'll be getting one. The specs are mouthwatering and for what is on offer, the price seems very very reasonable. Hats off to all involved!
  6. GN or BCDR?
  7. One word JB - book!
  8. Travelling on the Cushendall line - wow........ (even if it didn't quite make it down the valley to Cushendall!) Awesome stuff JB!
  9. Have you more details of this Colin?
  10. Fantastic work, seriously impressive, so many realistic touches as commented above - I particularly love the lengthy platform, watching progress with interest!
  11. Great to see the trains running Tony - treat us to longer videos please! Also maybe include your OO works locos? Small query - is the roof of your cabin maybe on the wrong way.....?
  12. Not quite the full way to Larne though.....
  13. It has been said here before Tony but your joinery skills are top notch!
  14. Great to have a fully authentic GNR(I) train!! Looks like a good job on the baseboard joints too, very smooth!
  15. Congrats Tony on the acquisitions - I guess like me, most would have received their U & UG a year apart, so you've probably experienced double the exhilaration!!! The UG looks well in the unlined black too. Looking forward to seeing the locos in action and to seeing the layout develop.
  16. Chuffed to hear that Mayner!! Thanks for all the nice comments above. Nice edition of NIL - some lovely models, especially the model of the Curragh siding, very impressive!
  17. Very nice Tony!
  18. Very nice!! Sad to see the mention of The Midland Hotel as 'Belfast's leading hotel', since the final sad remnants of it were only recently demolished. Also a nice unexpected glimpse of Armagh at the end.......
  19. Looking forward to picking mine up on Sunday Leslie!
  20. Superb - really looking forward to watching this one develop.
  21. Bet it feels good to see that!!!! Well done!!!
  22. Came across this, which may be of interest to the modern image Irish modeller. Irish road signs - scroll down for these. http://www.modelrailwayscenery.com/signs-and-posters/
