I think they are, but don't quote me on it, they seem to be waterslides.

I've used a humbrol acrylic matt spray varnish, but it gave a rough finish and tends to go cloudy, and if the varnish gets in contact with enamel paint it just frosts instantly.
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or are these common problems?
Bear in mind that maybe not everyone has these problems, so it could be I have a dodgy can?

Wow, I wish I could go, fantastic presentation amd fantastic use of information sheets and photos, I reckon your layout is best in show
good luck for the weekend.

I use humbrol enamel aerosols, they come in matt, satin or gloss. but I find the acrylic one to be hit and miss.

I love the black boards that finish off the layout nicely, and the superb scenery and attention to detail, fantastic.

I've got the LMS liveried one and it is amazing, the slow running and high level of detail makes £70 a real bargin.

Are you sure they aren't pressfix if not then try leaving them in the water for a while longer.

To be honest the final finish that he got looked rather good, although I guess a lot of filling and filling was needed.

Here's a link to it, http://www.shapeways.com/model/934389/4mm-scale-gnri-jt-tank-body-shell-16-5mm-gauge.html?modelId=934389&materialId=6
Although you will need to buy your own dome, chimney, buffers etc...

I have seen the JT class on shapeways as well, but I don't really like the finish that 3d printing gives, so I didn't buy it, there is also the chassis on shapeways for the body.

No problem, I to would be interested in hearing from people who bought them recently.

I heard the railtec ones have now been fixed and are now the correct scale and colour, (although I may be wrong), is the company your looking for, sunrise transfers (I think that's what they are called?)
