  5. The VCT only has this, last updated in 2003 - http://www.cs.vintagecarriagestrust.org/se/CarriageInfo.asp?Ref=3897
  6. It does seem strange though that, despite there being a CGI image that relates closely to the new livery, it hasn't been used at all, even to just give a general idea. However, if it wasn't 'pinned down' to a certain extent it could have been wise
  7. The only reason 8209 wasn't finished was that the design wasn't finalised - something to do with the shade of colours to be used. As it was it was sitting in the paintshop for a week because of the shape of the yellow end. The loco was ready, design not. Simple as that. Note that the coach was released about 2 months after 8209 (a month in service) The next loco (206) is in the full livery but not yet released (even to passing trains). Watch this space - should be out this month or next month
  8. Good evening all, February 2015 starts off with a few shots from Portlaoise and Heuston, including a shot of LUAS 3019 in a Sky Fibre AOA Regards, Kieran
  9. Good afternoon all, A few photos from last night at Heuston, featuring two ICR sets and a 201 - And a few from today, including shots of Inchicore taken from the 1415 Heuston - Portlaoise - Regards, Kieran
  10. Good evening all, A few photos of a busy Kildare in the fading light, with one special one at Portlaoise Regards, Kieran
  11. There are derogations in place regarding the colour of the doors. Something along the lines of if it isn't in normal revenue service or only used for a charter service. Hence why charter stock doesn't have to have it. The NYMR in the UK operates maroon Mark 1's onto the National Network to Whitby but don't have the contrasting doors. Anyway, I've heard a reason why the yellow on 8209 is in that shape - the painters got fustrated with the designers and just painted it. The new 29000 livery has taken a bit of getting used to but will look good when kept clean. Still prefer the original colours for them though
  12. Evening all, A few shots from this morning and evening at Heuston, including a shot of 22052 in Platform 1 with the 'mood lighting' on at the Eircom building Regards, Kieran
  13. Evening all, A few shots from the past few days from Portlaoise and Heuston, including: Sunday services at Portlaoise Monday night at Heuston with an unusual notice Tonight at Portlaoise Regards, Kieran

    RIP Bob Symes

I still have somes of his videos on Model Railways - always had a voice that indicated you could do it. Very sad to hear
  15. If you include variations, 215 with the new logos. I think I can add though - Revised Original Enterprise (as carried by 207 and 233 - full yellow end) Photos of the aboce liveries if you can't visualise them: 1. Original orange / black / yellow (https://www.flickr.com/photos/hurricanemk1c/9566138552/in/set-72157650122569965) 2. Later version with larger yellow patch ( ) 3. Original "Enterprise" ( ) 4. NIR variation on above (Not quite sure about this one) 5. Second (current) "Enterprise" () 6. New "Enterprise" silver and black ( ) 7. Green and grey "Intercity" ( ) 8. NIR all-blue ( ) (not my photo) 9. Revised Original Enterprise ( ) 071's have had: Supertrain Supertrain with white stripe Freight Silver/Black Slate Grey I hope the livery isn't all over maroon - just looks too drab
  16. Those two numbers wrecked my head while discussing 201's in store - someone always wound someone else up and then made up a failre, such as a Warp Core breach. The ones I wanted (photo wise) are 204, 210, 211 and 212. Yet to get a shot of them on their own!
  17. Please not 216 or 225!
  18. As far as I was aware, 206 and 208 are the only ones undergoing bodywork at the moment. However, that could be just the current operating fleet of Irish Rail / NIR. I'm heading past Inchicore on Monday so will have a looky to see if any of the orange 201's have moved. Seems to me a bit early to be doing the locos, but that depends on which locos they are 'donating' money to restore and their condition. The only thing we can say for sure is that it'll be interesting to see next year!
  19. Good evening all, Futher to The Wanderer's post above, I was at Hazelhatch to observe the powered wheel skate trials with 220. However, I was present from the first trip out and include photos of the IWT's and PWD workings. Highlights include: 079 LE to the south 218 on the 0935 North Wall - Ballina IWT 233 on the 0815 Ballina - North Wall IWT 086 on the 1150 Inchicore - Limerick Wheel Skate details 075 on PWD duties https://www.flickr.com/photos/hurricanemk1c/sets/72157650314059105/ Thanks for looking! Regards, Kieran
  20. Good afternoon all, Today has been an ununsual day. Due to the failure of the 0600 Cork - Heuston at Newbridge (no idea what the problem was), trains were running late across the Heuston network. And of course it had snowed. I decided to head for Hazelhatch for some different photos, but ended up spending about 10 minutes there due to late running. Here are the photos - Regards, Kieran
  21. Good evening all, First, a bit of history. It has been 1 year since the last 6-car Class 22000 operated on the network. The honour fell to 22040 and it worked the 1810 Heuston - Portlaoise commuter service. This allowed it to return to Laois Traincare Depot where 22540 was removed and would be placed into 22020. A photo of it after arrival into Portlaoise may be seen here - From today (13/1/15), some snowy pictures from Portlaoise - Thanks for looking, Kieran
  22. Evening all, A few from me (sort of) this evening I have been given some photos of 087 and the 201's I was missing as indiviual photos by Peter076. These can be viewed here - One photo that missed out on being published in 2014 was this one of the Weedsprayer tanks at Portlaoise - And finally January 2015 kicks off with a couple of photos from Portlaoise PW - Regards, Kieran
  23. Steam and Mark 2 Aircons - excellent!
  24. It was the only one converted from a UK Mark 3. As 'josefstadt' said, 6401 was part of the International set and is significantly different to a standard Mark 3, with basically only the interior the same as a standard Mark 3. Different bodyshell, construction method, doors, bogies - the lot. Whereas 6402 has standard BT22 bogies (as shared with 6105 and 7146, both preserved) and also worked with Mark 3 Push/Pull sets, something which 6401 never did. 6402 in service with a Push/Pull rake -
