I have a "sinking feeling" that a 21mm conversion wouldn't be impossible by any means on these coaches, with the help of a bit of 3d printing. Assuming all 3 assemblies are removable as in the picture on this page....

I am starting to wonder should I order the complete set now and sure if they prove too difficult to convert I can probably sell them on of hold onto them should I need a kidney some day.
Only the center axle unit is screwed in.

My diesel - a Renault Kadjar car is delivering approximately 5 litres per 100 km which at todays prices rounds to 10km for every euro on fuel. Anyone know how how far a euro goes running in battery mode on something like a Ford Kuga, Hyundai Tuscon or similar?
I have a Kia Niro Hybrid & the best I have got so far is 3.8 litres per 100 km.
Before that I had a Kia Soul which did 5 lts per 100 km.

Seller's username sounds familiar, like a former poster here.
And a few 071's and a 201 at absolute bargain prices...

That they may be left with them.
Even if I could afford them I wouldn't buy them.

Thanks lads, I should have asked here before buying from Amazon/eBay. I had ordered a similar unit through Amazon UK but An Post returned it due to incomplete customs information to the vendor(present location unknown, probably will have to do chargeback on my card) and the unit I ordered from eBay is still showing it hasnt been shipped after several days so probably another no-show.
Third time luck I hope.
If you ordered the unit through Amazon the you can claim a refund because of non delivery.

You could try the Gaugemaster Combo from Hattons for 38 UK pounds. Simple but very good.

Should of updated last week. I paid the VAT and Anpost fee and amazingly the item arrived the next day.
When the package arrived all seemed to be ok with it, I did not notice anything different to previous orders, so seems to have possibly been Anpost mess-up when item was scanned, (when I put in the tracking/custom's info from Anpost it said sender unknow) anyway, I contacted Hatton's and emailed them the Anpost receipt and correspondence and they gave me a full refund of the VAT & charges.
Just an An Post mess up as usual
I just wish they'd train their staff properly.

Quite a few 121's scattered about the show today for sure.
Bagged a nice Two Tone Green Baccy Class 47 with sound for 100 notes from Sean Ryan, Worth the trip alone, Just had a play with it there now and it is brand new!! Not even run!!
Enjoyed the day there, Left at 1745 and headed down to see the forlorn Port Lairge Wreck down in Saltmills then over to Portlaw to see the Malcomson's house, fish n chip in Youghal then. just in the door
That sounds like a lovely day out George.
Pity I'm so far away
It has its plus points living down here but also has its disadvantages.

I did contact Hattons, they have changed their policy a bit, they say they will refund the VAT but not the handling charge! This is a copy of the email that that I sent to the CEO at Hattons yesterday, along with his reply. I know the admin fee is 'only' €3.50 but that is not the point, is it a ploy from Anpost to see how much more money they can try and get out of people?
"Hi Richard,I have today received a notification from Anpost (Irish postal service) requesting customs/VAT charges on my recent order. Apart from a few issues last summer all of my recent orders from Hattons have been received without any issue. Earlier I spoke to one of your customer service representatives, (Christov) via live chat , however he told me that I would only be refunded the VAT and not the admin fee. I do not see why I should lose out.Could you if at all possible look into this for me.Information on the card from Anpost is:_Customs Value : €xxxxCustoms Reference : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxTracking ID Number : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCustoms charges;Import Duty €0.00Excise Duty €0.00VAT : €xxxxxAdmin Fee €3.50Total to pay €xxxxWhen I contacted Anpost customer service all they told me was that the item was from outside the EU and had to be paid despite me saying that Hatton's were registered for Irish VAT. I would appreciate any help or advice that you can give in regards to this issue.Regards, John""Hi John
Thanks for your order and email. Our policy is that shipping and duty is paid for by the customer. I agree that admin fees are not welcome, and we honestly do our best to make a "level playing field" to stop any customers feeling this way. I am working on ways for us to process these more seamlessly, so in the future there are no (or reduced) fees like this
I hope this is a useful explanation?Richard"Check the Hattons customs label when the package arrives & see if its ok.
It seems with An Post it depends who scans your package as to which way things will go.
Its a mess with them but what's new

Hattons normally handle this via DDP the parcel should just arrive as Hattons are registered for VAT in ROI. Assuming the correct paper work was with the parcel from Hattons. Let An Post send it back to Hattons and let Hattons resend with the correct paperwork. They are normally brilliant at this. I've used them ever since brexit no problems.
Hattons are normally spot on with their paperwork. I'd say this just an An Post cockup. Wouldn't be the first time

Anpost are back to their antics once again. Today in the post had a card telling me I have to pay customs charges on my recent order from Hatton's. Does not say what it is for until you put in the customs/tracking info on the Anpost website.
After last summers shenanigan's with Anpost things appeared to be fine until now.
As usual Anpost customer service were helpful as usual, Not!!!
The best thing is to contact Hattons.

What retailers would you recommend? I've pretty much stopped buying for the UK completely since brexit.
I have bought recently from Rails, Hattons & Coastal DCC.
They have different ways of dealing with the Vat.
Hattons charge the Irish vat & the package comes straight through.
Rails & Coastal DCC deduct the British Vat & you pay the Irish Vat when the package comes in.

Same here. Our eldest son who lives in the UK sent us a package of gifts for Christmas, he filled out all the necessary forms and the package still did'nt arrive until mid-January. We then received a customs notice a week later; pay or else. Yeah, good luck with that.
I only buy stuff from UK retailers where I know I won't have trouble with them.
I used to get a lot of items from E Bay but not any more as the postage & vat have gone crazy on that site now.

My wife got a Customs card from An Post last week for an item that was delivered about three weeks ago
If not paid we'll send the package back.Good luck with that one.
It was a help to light the fire

Same here. I wonder if rails had done all the paperwork so an post didn’t charge on top?
Yes but Rails don't collect the Vat & that's what the An Post fee is for.

Packages being inspected returned to sender, disappearing into Limbo, receiving ransom notes from Revenue and An Post. Bloody 19th century Pony Express would have been more reliable, efficient, and cheaper! It's all very well to say buy local or buy EU but when the most popular scale most on here model in is by and large a uk thing.
Its a pity that Revenue aren't so quick to take money from the big boys.
No when they go to court the big boys expensive lawyers tie them up in knots.
The ordinary person in the street is an easy catch

Are An Post still charging €3.50 Post fee ?
The reason I ask is that I got notified of Vat due on a package from Rails with no Post fee charged.
Tony.

A tsunami of the A class on E Bay now.
If you were to buy one of them it would cast you over £300 before you got it

I wonder if it would be worthwhile the big UK manufacturers getting together to discuss providing free Kadees with every new model released from now on to try to finally help banish the TLC from the face of the earth. Other industries see competitors work together to develop new, better standards that the whole industry then abides by. TLCs should have been retired decades ago already. Awful things.
Can't see that happening.

For around 2 quid not worth the hassle but if this was something with a larger price and they did not convert from USD to EUR then this would be worrying for sure.
Its not the money at all George. Its just the principle of the whole thing considering all the unnecessary fuss An Post made of the VAT changeover.
It seems they can do whatever they want & the poor customer just has to take it on the chin.

As far as I know postage is taken in to account so €30 plus €6.47 would put the packet over the €30 limit. You packet was listed in dollars but comes in at €26.50 and postage of €5.30 puts you over the threshold. However you were charged in Euro initially instead of dollars which is wrong. You can appeal this but it will be a long process depending on who you are dealing with.
I don't know where they got the €6.47 postage from as the total including postage was $30 ?
We don't mind paying as long as its fair & above board.
I have queried it with them but I don't expect to get anywhere as it seems they can do as they like.
