hows this ANDY? 774....... Close coupled too... 778 and 754 ex 811 before she was rebuilt...... 8775 and 8777 Centre Cars.......

Hi Glenderg no the mitre saw is a B&Q one with a upgraded blade fitted to it (32 Teeth Per Inch) which does a really nice cut and so smooth too. So it is standard size saw which gives nice arm motion 3 - 4 strokes and its through the plastic so its great to use it is also useful for cutting brass and aluminium roof sections..............

Thank you heirflick it takes years of practice to get to this stage......... Thank you Andy it was a lot of hard work to do it in 5 hours had an alarm clock set so I knew when time was up plus doing all the cutting with a mitre saw speeded up the time too.... oh and look at this pic Andy 10 mins before time up I had fitted another bogie floor section.....

Hi Guys well my Challenge is completed, 5 hours later and heres the results, oh and I got a wee surprise as you will all see or will you?? Well anyone see the surprise??

Hey Ivor glad you like the Suburban livery.... Sorry guys didn't get any pics tonight as darkness fell before I could take some my fault had late tea and then decided to do some modelling so I will update on my progress of this evenings work tomorrow night...... plus I have got a wee surprise too.... no problem Nelson no harm done... yeah they do look good and the paint you see on the driving trailer is the real coach paint used in painting the life size units a friend got me the paint in wee jars...

No Nelson they are not Railtec transfers they are my own transfers that I got done way back in 1988/89..

Today started off well then the weather turned nasty so had to stop work this is what I got done in 1 hour of my challenge...................... Colin. 3 out of the six the other side complete... minus the grills at this stage they will be added later on the fitting out stage.....

The fronts came with an orange reflective front, I actually have some left that was given to me back in 1981 when I first got my 1st GM model to add to the model which I painted with paint from York road workshops too..

Hi Nelson as heirflick says don't apologise to anybody for your work..... just like me when I was your age my modelling skills were not as good as yours, but with experience your skills will grow and you will learn everyday new methods on how to do things too, plus you will get quicker at doing projects..... as I have found if you are building wagons build a number of them at the same time so your doing the same thing while waiting on glue setting say on the 1st one and your doing the 2nd one while the glue is drying on that one do the 3rd one etc etc That way you can speed up your projects.....

Hi Tony hey that's lovely to have such memories, it will be a real pleasure for me now to complete the Translink livery because when I see it I will always have this picture in my head of this wee lad visiting his nana & grandpas after just got of no.90 say 774 or should I say 8774 and 8755?? 3 car set....

Hi 33lima I see you suggested slicing the passenger windows, just to let you know that there is little difference in spacing and on overall length it does not take away from the building of the power cars except that it does save me some time......... I have built the power cars before using this method and its been a great success..... I also have done the 70 class using the same method too.... The UTA/NIR Railcars I have quite a few I want to build and will be doing most of these using brass which I love working with....... Colin.

Hey Andy this is the results from yesterdays work.... 2 hours to measure and glue sides and fit to other half of bodyshell so that's 2 1/2 hours left on my challenge to do other side and maybe get the fronts fitted too? Andy you will see on the first photo that the bodyshell close to camera has been fitted with a lima floor off a loco in which the trailing bogie will sit beneath, was just checking to make sure that the Power Car will sit to the correct height of the Lima intermediate 80 class coach that you saw primered earlier....

yes Tony I think ur right the 80,s did suit the Translink livery and the red bull too...... That's decided no.90 will be in Translink livery and guess what I will have to do it in 3 car set and let you see it when completed...

Well that's what the guys in York road called it back in the 1970,s even the station master (last station master) at whiteabbey he often referred to the 70 class as being in the enterprise livery....
