You'd need to find out who supplies the factory in China with its paints. Good luck with that.
We know quite well who supplies the paint to our factories.
Paint shades are based on colour matching systems (e.g. RAL, Pantone) rather than a range offered by a specific manufacturer.
We previously looked at the whole area of selling paint and it's an area that requires a significant amount of 'heavy lifting' to make possible, and the Irish market is too small to justify minimum production quantities at this time.

To be honest you would probably be better off getting in touch with one of the retailers who buy collections and sell secondhand stock. Rails of Sheffield and Ellis Clark are two which come to mind, but there are others.
Auctions can be unpredictable, and unless there's something special about a particular model it may have to be listed with little or no reserve, meaning you may end up getting next to nothing for the item if it does sell.

@Mayner interesting and detailed post.
Am curious: why 35mph? Would other wagons not have had issues at higher speeds? A 35mph limit seems drastic...how this would have affected schedules etc.
The Essos were combined with the Sligo liner on occasion, especially during the 1990s. I can still hear the swearing from Sligo crews waiting on the platform waiting to take over from their Connolly counterparts when they spied a cut of tankers on the rear. It meant they were in for a longer shift...

Re. "fitted" Bulleid opens, I've never seen evidence of any such things. However, a small number of vacuum-braked 20ft flat wagons received open bodies fabricated from the same galvanised panelling with 'extender' sections to cross the gaps at either end. The body sections were likely sourced from scrapped Bulleids.

FYI: We're hoping to provide both the spindle and heavy duty buffer types used on these wagons as separate accessories. Further details will be revealed in due course!

No answer anyhow, Emailed there like you suggested....
Hi @Georgeconna, as I explained in my response to your email, the forum is not an official support channel and is not monitored for that purpose. We're always available to provide support via email, live chat, SMS and social media PMs.
Hope you will be pleased with the replacement bogies which will be winging their way to you shortly!

Hi all,
The tracking for those orders activated when the labels were printed rather than when being scanned after dispatch, so the updates are a bit premature. We're looking at a way to avoid this going forward.

Hi all
I'm curious if any of the current IRM bullied based wagons ever ventured into the North, places such as the derry road or irish north west particularly. as when I come to creating a layout based on my irish stock I'll most likely base it somewhere local to me.
In short, yes! There are images of them in places like Derry/Londonderry, even some images of them being shunted by MPDs.

Excuse the inexperience, but am I correct in assuming the only difference between packs 1-3 of the cie grey examples are the running numbers?
That's pretty much it, @Metrovik.

Hi all,
Things have gotten a bit out of hand here so I've removed a few posts. Ad hominem attacks are out of order.
Can we please stay on topic and remain civilised while discussing the models in question? The banhammer has been kept in its case for a long time now and it would be great if it could be kept there. Cheers!

I have added locos into my basket, but at the checkout screen, I am not seeing any Partial.ly payment option?
EDIT: just spotted the Partial.ly option at the bottom of the screen!
47 minutes ago, murphaph said:I had this issue too last year I believe. You have to select partially it in the step before you go to the checkout IIRC. I asked this same question a few months back if you want to search for it.
Gents, just to clarify, Partial.ly is only accepted for pre-orders with at least a six-month lead time as goods are not reserved until payment is completed in full. The 141/181s are due in approximatley six weeks.

Interestingly, I recently saw a photo of one of the ex-GSR Drewry inspection cars painted in Black & Tan livery. Up until that I had thought their final livery was green with Flying Snails on the sides.

The brake gear under the Palvans was different to that on the Bulleid underframes.

Different brake gear and springs, same triangulated underframe...

I wonder if ANYONE can produce a photo of one of the corrugateds with a Snail logo, however small?
It looks like you've made it home safely, Leslie - it was good to see you at the show in Blackrock!
There are a few photos of wagons with the Flying Snail on the solebar, including one here: http://www.athyphotos.gallery/railway-station.html
It's the second photo on the left - the wagon is behind three members of staff posing for the camera. If you open the image in a new window you can zoom in and see the logo on the side.
Another one which comes to mind is a shot by George Mahon which can be viewed in the IRRS's Flickr archive (IRRS membership required in order to view): https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishrailwayarchive/50356805096/
Hope that helps!

It's not import duty, it's VAT which is different. By rights, any UK retailer should be removing VAT from the price charged to you if the goods are being shipped to Ireland so you do not end up paying the tax twice on the purchase - as it will be collected by the carrier on behalf of Revenue when the goods are imported into the country.
Import duty is a seperate charge applied at varying rates to products which qualify for it. Under WTO agreements, model railway equipment does not incur duty so such charges should not be applied to the goods when being imported.

If you have the same log in for IRM & Accura
Thankyou
If you have the same log in for IRM & Accurascale, does it combine the rewards, points etc. or are both websites separate?
I wonder how many Platinum (lottery winners) there are lol
You will have two different point balances as the websites are separate platforms.

Yup, that's pretty much exactly what I wrote, although I was a lot more concise.
Hi Dave,
I was just adding context to allay any concerns that we might be unable to fulfill our warranty obligations. As I said above, drop us a line and we'll see what we can do re. the parts you still require.

An Update on the State of the Model Train Industry

Interesting, still not accessible here. It has no connection to IRM/Accurascale and we strongly advise against using it as it is clearly a scam.
