I suspect that you might sell a complete train for maybe €500 or €600, but not €900.
Adverts.ie is not eBay, it doesn't have the reach or audience, and it's not a timed auction site so the red mist is missing.
But unlike ebay, Adverts is in Ireland, so people are not as terrified of VAT, postage or import fees

Apparently they’ll even use a short stretch of the Kingscourt line for the Navan North station, it would be cool if they opened that line too. Oh well, at least I won’t have to travel to another county to see trains anymore!
The Kingscourt line is now abandoned and some of it is in the process of conversion to a greenway, the short stretch, if its used will stop before the first former level crossing at the Navan-Kells road as all of the trackbed is still intact in that area, along with the track still being there, if disappeared under 21 years worth of weeds. Kilmainhamwood is the only place on the former line where it still looks like a railway station, its in reasonable order

It is happening, but only signed off for now, it probably wont entirely follow the original trackbed closed in the 60's and lifted in 1964 either, as it needs to go closer to/into Dunshaughlin and bypass Kilmessan Junction, so the famous Station House Hotel can stay. A lot of the original trackbed from the MGWR route remains and most of the buildings too - Batterstown, Bective, Drumree and Kilmessan Junction
Plenty of bridges will need to be build also, at least 1 if not 2 crossings of the M3 along with some major civil engineering work elsewhere on the route

So are all of the Dapol 45' models 2,5 scale metres wide?
Somebody told me that 2500mm boxes were too wide for Irish railways, hence the use of narrow boxes up there. Is that true?
Given a Park Royal coach is 2895mm wide - No. Irish Loading Gauge is bigger than the UK

Yup, and one that you now know about thanks to @Westcorkrailway, and can actually find thanks to the url.
You're welcome.
And the one that a lot of prominent people involved in this scene are banned from for some reason.
I'm heartbroken

You can't beat a good box.
Aiming at the collectors market ultimately - how many of these are bought and run continuously for more than a few mins......

Sadly RMweb has become virtually unusable recently with even more popup adds every single click, some cannot be dismissed or closed and obscure 1/3rd of the content area. I'm not paying £5/month for the privilege of generating content for a private enterprise, just to get rid of the adds and make it as useable as it used to be. Wonder what the human page hits are now compared to two years ago before the advertising blitz. Here on IRM and FaceBook groups are so much easier to use and browse.
Aw god love you, you poor little chicken. 1 candle or 2?

No argument there, as that would apply to everything IRM produces. But I can’t see them standing on the toes of a relatively small manufacturer, as this might discourage them from producing further Irish models.
Taking on the big boys with a much better Deltic and class 37 is one thing but I couldn’t see IRM trying to outdo OO Works.
It's a competitive market ultimately, not everyone is friends and you need rivalry to make better models to higher standards. Notice Accurascale pushed on with the 37 after Bachmann quickly announced theirs and it will be available soon
Anything IRM is mass produced to a standard. OO Works are small numbers and hand assembled in the UK, basically pre-assembled whitemetal kits, compared to mass assembled IRM items. The IRM model will be a lot easier to get a hold of, along with better running and warranty backup. True RTR and not a niche manufacturer

Can't imagine IRM ever producing a model steam locomotive for the Irish market as the demand just isn't there.
They said the same about wagons and look what happened there

I don't think a J15 is an option, not after the OO Works models.
Au contrare, an IRM J15 will look better and more importantly run better than the OO Works ones.

On 121 grand a year to eat sambos, reply to 2 emails daily and read the paper, sounds like a grand job
Anyway Irish Rail have loads of whistleblowers, they are called guards and train dispatchers....

I wonder if it would be possible to get a sound chip, not for the locomotives or rolling stock, but for the yard itself to make it a bit more authentic?
Seen it being done plenty of times tbh, the 3 small dioramas across from the IRM stand at the Dublin October show all had them, just ambient sounds for each one

I need a 45' one for my layout.
Could any of our 3D print wizards do an Irish standard 45ft one?
These massive 70ft things they have in GB, with little cabs on them and so forth, or ground level ones - for an Irish layout look as utterly ridiculous as a TGV in Amtrak livery, hauled by "Dick", on a model of the Sligo Leitrim in 1898. The "bought" turntables are both too big and too expensive.
Look for a Heljan one, they were shorter. As used on the MRSI Loughrea layout, suitably regauged to 21mm. 121's and J15's sit nicely on them

How was the loco turned in Belfast (Or did it work up with a 141/181 and split?).
Split - there was also a table in the old York Road depot - not sure if it worked mind, and the triangle for the 'cross harbour link' would have been around then - just!

Hi Guys, I happened upon this as I was scouring the internet and discovered this [below] Beginning to think that a new low has been reached. Is this entertaining for the railway modeller, really! Click - Watch - Weep
Well you felt the need to point it out and share it here, you could have easily not done this, so by doing this you are funding him on youtube too

Yes I do think they should be limited to 5 packs per customer, as there will be some buying them to stockpile and sell on at inflated prices.
FOMO??
They will be marked as seconds anyway like the ones were at Raheny. 'Caveat Emptor' if you are later buying them preowned

Take it these are Worseley Works 'scratch aids' kits??

I don't get ya? I presume he doesn't want to scratch build all his rolling stock. That's not what you mean, is it?

Hi . I'm new here but was thinking of EM for my new Irish layout and joining the EM society
If you modelled the layout in 1/87 (HO) scale, EM is bang on for 1600mm / 5'3 gauge.

Not really, you want people to buy them now and not 'ah shur ill get it again', and then moan in a few years time when its more expensive and they missed the chance, a la most murphy models locos, 121 aside
Also 2 of the 92 special editions were made in even less numbers than this...
