In haste, as I'm en route to the west today...................... a port scene. I wonder if any of those Mk 1 vans are among those that ended up as CIE gennies! Again, unsure of date and location; mid to late 1960s.image.thumb.png.02e359ea159e87c240527464cfae31e3.png

Push it forward a decade at least Mk3 Cortina and Mk2 Escort make it the late 1970's

  2. They did get to Derry at least once, a pair visited with a rake of Ferts but this may have been in lieu of a 141/181 or two. There was a video on youtube but sadly gone

Also the first 'farewell' tour featured 101 from Coleraine to Derry, along with plenty of other things from 3 decades ago

Typically Translink.have chosen that weekend for line closures between Belfast and Dublin! Bus not train!

Its traditional almost that there is engineering work taking place all around the network on the October Bank Holiday weekend, been the same for years. The motorcar has never been more practical

There is a few of the more recent issues with those trailers still available from retailers, although not sure if marks stock them..

if you Google Oxford diecast “Ronnie s Evans” or Reid’s of minishant(with a nice Scania 113) they should come up for you

Marks doesnt as much, he said the artics dont sell as well compared to the cars, light commericals and buses

I've the Tinnelly Demolition Scania TCab tipper here, but thats a keeper

Another one to watch out for is the Alfred Hymas DAF 2800 - all depends on what cab you want

I looked at photos of NR Class 73s and they don’t appear that dirty even around the exhausts.

Like a lot of NR liveried stock, launched in a blaze of glory to spend a lot of time lying around the place. The only 73's NR have in use now are their 2 Minions - the rebuilt 73/9's

and the "flying snail" on the control desk of NIR's three 071s, it's possible that a "foreign" manufacturer got the details wrong

'Pushes glasses up nose' - the 3 NIR 111's have the NIR logo - its the 071's that have the flying snail.....

With the sheer amount of pubs being closed down and cleared out lately expect more 'signs' railway or not to appear for sale

That was a great find at that price!

There were plenty of Atlas/Stobart (made by Oxford) models flooding the market to clear, might still be some shrapnel left, look at Hattons, Marks Models etc

Ideal for conversions, plus I dont like stobart either, ideal way to upset a few of their collectors

Tom Brady of IFM still does produce stuff if you ask him nicely. He does have a Facebook page and there is almost always something of his on eBay. I recently bought two palvans from him. They fill a gap in the market

Inbetween being one of, if not the greatest NFL players of all time, he is an Irish Model Railway enthusiast!!! Who knew. Although his touchdown passes to Rob Gronkowski are better than his models any day

Is it me or does this look a lot like one of these with wheels under it.... The real one also didn't have a bar between the axleboxes, never mind bent like a Banana...

I don't know, the top level stuff that IRM are producing for the Irish Outline market that's easily available, no chasing invoices, waiting on emails, dealing with a very part time operation on every level -  they are easily available provided you order promptly, even can pay by instalments, yet people tolerate this level of model - still

I think IRM should just admit defeat now, close up, find something else to do, I hear the railways in East Africa are now popular and models are in demand despite the poor quality cottage industries producing stuff, a new direction - EARM maybe?

but as far as I know, the 141s are not fitted with speakers so a speaker will also have to be wired to the sound decoder for use in 141/181.

Correct, the thinner centre section means you cant fit a reasonably big speaker either

I’ve only met one person to use that phrase, I believe we met at paddy murphy’s stand in Inchicore last month..

Correct, ironically discussing the availability of models after people left it late to purchase them, leaving it to the last minute and missing out as a result...

Your post is repulsive and racist, "P###y I######n". The IRM UK webite shows all A Class sold. Having purchased 18 A class locos already, I will not take any lessons on how to spend my money from anyone such as you. End of conversation.

I'll go and put the kettle on, milk/sugar??

A30 sold out ! Yesterday IRM Website showed 32 in stock, ouch as I was going to buy one later this year, when Crossley sound decoders came available.

It's been well proven at this stage to not hang around and leave it until the last second, as Paddy Irishman seems to always do. IRM offer instalment options too, so no excuses if you want one, you can have one

IRM, I’m not happy to say the least, I have now paid over the top for A30 from Private Supplier as I understood you had sold out. Rubbish ! I have purchased Eighteen A Class from you already. I recently received a demand of full payment for 13 Magnesite wagons when I had already paid £200 + towards the order, granted there are now in stock earlier than expected and I have agreed to pay then balance !
But I am beginning to think we are being taking for granted and that is not good enough. No excuses, thank you.

Meow - 'Man angry he bought an A Class over the odds and he's been asked to pay for wagons that are now in stock' Meow Meow Meow

Private Suppliers are the best salesmen going did you not know that? They will tell you anything for a sale, why not refer to the Source/Manufacturer each and every time. Be thankful for the excellent IRM Customer Support too a lot of other manufacturers could learn from them.

    Meow
