Better still fit the loco with a number plate and its is basically correct for a loco running in GSR condition (apart from the narrower running plate/position of the cylinders and motion).

The Inchacore smokebox door with hand wheel appears to be a late Emergency/CIE modification.

I assume the original doors got burnt out and they just used standard Inchicore doors rather than trying to source or replicate the old ones?

Various types of central buffer are in use all over the world, and are actually in the majority. On narrow gauges - including NZ’s “Cape” gauge, plus the Irish narrow gauge, they g FG institute the vast, vast majority; 100% of Irish narrow gauge lines had central “chopper” couplings as above.

The loco shown was one of a pair, the second-strongest narrow gauge locos in Ireland.

The three Cork ng lines, had to be different, and adopted a central link and pin coupler rather than the 'chopper' aka Norwegian coupler.

Why did they paint her grey? The 3 west cork locos that ran on IRRS specials were painted black and indeed back was the norm I thaught post 1955 ish

mustve had some spare paint lying around

Grey was the standard colour by and large.

A grey loco, weathered, cleaned and polished with oily rags for a special will appear black.

Exactly what I would have said. There were 1 or 2 minds willing to wait for fully authentic versions and while it’s a great prospect, the English market can’t even have there own 6 wheelers. If you want fully authentic ones…kits exist

I wonder is there a market for undecorated ones for slightly cheaper, so people could paint up in GSR, or indeed any livery

Was thinking Departmental Grey as another option, for breakdown trains and travelling crew dormitories.

Last week a Train manager ejected three youths at Cheltenham for ticketless travel - She is 5 foot nothing and not to be argued with ! Well they tried and got the order of the boot.

You'd probably get sued by the types on this side of the water for bullying or PTSD!

Another WD&LR sign sold for €70 in Keighery's, Waterford, this week - I was almost tempted but without being able to physically view the sign I didn't bid. As I think I mentioned previously in this thread there were still quite a lot of WD&LR signs still in place in the 1980s so this could be the genuine item.

A "sigh" alright. A fake. Another person had.

A proper one should look like this.
