Better still fit the loco with a number plate and its is basically correct for a loco running in GSR condition (apart from the narrower running plate/position of the cylinders and motion).
The Inchacore smokebox door with hand wheel appears to be a late Emergency/CIE modification.
I assume the original doors got burnt out and they just used standard Inchicore doors rather than trying to source or replicate the old ones?

I have seen something similar before and was told it was attached to a horse drawn vehicle belonging to one of the landed gentry. A sort of forerunner of a vehicle registration plate.

Looks real, all right. Yes, a rarity among "genuine" forgeries..........
Like an ebay listing I saw once "faithful reproduction of an authentic item".

It's almost a novelty for an 'antique' auction to offer something that IS antique.

Various types of central buffer are in use all over the world, and are actually in the majority. On narrow gauges - including NZ’s “Cape” gauge, plus the Irish narrow gauge, they g FG institute the vast, vast majority; 100% of Irish narrow gauge lines had central “chopper” couplings as above.
The loco shown was one of a pair, the second-strongest narrow gauge locos in Ireland.
The three Cork ng lines, had to be different, and adopted a central link and pin coupler rather than the 'chopper' aka Norwegian coupler.

Had a similar issue (slipping axle gear) replaced FOC.
Might be a bit light-duty for such a weighty loco?

If you're talking about CIÉ's system, then green and cream or red and cream.

The Getty images photo is captioned incorrectly and picked up by whoever edited the piece.
Not the author as I'm sure he'd spot that straight away!

Why did they paint her grey? The 3 west cork locos that ran on IRRS specials were painted black and indeed back was the norm I thaught post 1955 ish
mustve had some spare paint lying around
Grey was the standard colour by and large.
A grey loco, weathered, cleaned and polished with oily rags for a special will appear black.

Something unspecified, belonging to a dog is welcome.

Got a railcar set from them, bypassed customs, got them brought in as hand luggage.
Have had enough of An Post fudging and being shaken down by Revenue.

"Troublesome" people being shuffled into made-up jobs is not unknown in that organisation.

Just looks like a bitta fun to me, not everything has to be a po-faced unboxing. Good on them.

The bit on the left is in keeping, if it had a stone finish. The Dermot Bannon thing in the foreground is light years beyond hideous.
A flat roof in a country famously known for its rain. That's archithicks for you.

I already see the whinging about the costs already on the Book of Faces comments section.
No-one seems give out about how much it costs to build a road (or Greenway!) in this country.

Exactly what I would have said. There were 1 or 2 minds willing to wait for fully authentic versions and while it’s a great prospect, the English market can’t even have there own 6 wheelers. If you want fully authentic ones…kits exist
I wonder is there a market for undecorated ones for slightly cheaper, so people could paint up in GSR, or indeed any livery
Was thinking Departmental Grey as another option, for breakdown trains and travelling crew dormitories.

Tough choice.

The great and the good in Youghal didn't care much for a railway. Perhaps they're more interested in cycling and walking doggies, who knows? Don't ask, don't get.

Last week a Train manager ejected three youths at Cheltenham for ticketless travel - She is 5 foot nothing and not to be argued with ! Well they tried and got the order of the boot.

Another WD&LR sign sold for €70 in Keighery's, Waterford, this week - I was almost tempted but without being able to physically view the sign I didn't bid. As I think I mentioned previously in this thread there were still quite a lot of WD&LR signs still in place in the 1980s so this could be the genuine item.
A "sigh" alright. A fake. Another person had.
A proper one should look like this.

I've never seen a pic of a Murphy Bros open actually in use, just a builder's photo.
I imagine they had a short Murphys branded life, probably sold to the GSR or CIE to become yet another anonymous looking grey, filth covered wagon.
