  1. One IR 143 unopened for sale. Collection Dublin City centre only. €100.
  2. Did anyone test the 141/181s produced for Murphy Models? I may have been contaminated while I was admiring the great details and the wonderful smooth running qualities of that loco. How did we get to here? I thought this was about 'Fleischmann applying for insolvency'?
  3. It's good news from a business sense but, in reality, Fleischmann exists in name form only. Like most manufacturers, models are produced in countries where labour costs are must lower and so it the quality of the product.
  4. Sad news indeed but, for me, the demise of Fleischmann began back in 2008 when it became part of Modelleisenbahn GmbH. Most of the models I've bought, and continue to do so, are pre-2008. There's so much competition in the market for German model trains that someone was always going to lose out. I'm sorry that it had to be Fleischmann. Luckily for me, I've managed to build a collection big enough to keep me going. There will always be the few models that got away but, that's how it goes in this business.
  5. Hi guys, all locomotives have been sold. Regards, Gerard

  8. Hi Iarnrod, I'm still in the process of selling the locos. I'll let you know the state of play as soon as I can.
  9. Hi Guys, I've replied to all of you who contacted me about my 141/181 locos. Just to let you know that they are all in perfect condition, some of them haven't even been run. The locos are €80 each. Thanks for replying to my ad and I'll keep you all updated. Regards, Gerard
  10. Hi guys, I'll be moving to a new abode in October and due to the lack of space I have to sell some of my Murphy Models 141/181 class locomotives. There are 8 locos in total, 4 IR & 4 IÉ liveried models (different running numbers). The locos are in excellent condition. €80 each. Regards, Gerard PS. I'll be away until 22nd September so will not be able to reply to any e-mails until my return.
  11. I was at the MRSI model show in Dún Laoighre and the 071s look fantastic. It was certainly worth going to see them alone. They look far better in the flesh (plastic) than they do in photos. I can't wait to get my hands on some.
  12. Does it really matter who produces the 071? I'm very happy with the quality of the 141/181 models I have, they're little beauties and run very smoothly. Like some of you, I'd have concerns about the quality of the product I'm buying, however, I've two left hands and I'm only too delighted that there are ready to run models of Irish rolling stock for me to purchase.
  13. It's hard to know how well the 071s will sell, €175 (SRP) is a lot of money in the current climate. I think the sales of the 071s will determine whether or not the 121s will be produced.
  14. Yep! The 121s are lovely locomotives but the 071s are my favourite. I'm not a fan of the 201s so I didn't get any so I've been patiently waiting for the 071s to come along. Can't wait to get my hands on them. Also, I've noticed that there's a yellow band around the top of the Silver and Black liveried 071s, is that just a stripe or a strip of metal which has some function?
  15. I'll be buying at least six, most of them in the IÉ Black & Silver freight livery. Can't wait 'til pictures of that version are posted on the MM website.
  16. As bad as the weathering on the 141s was they're still my favourite of all the locos I have. The weathering really enhances the details, however, I think that I'll leave that job to the professionals and get the Model Shop to weather some of the 071s for me.
  17. I've a couple of IÉ 141s which I'd be willing to sell. I've never liked that logo on the 121/141/181/071 locos.
  18. I had a look at the pre-production class071 in Mark's Models. At this stage it doesn't matter to me what livery it has, I just want to get my hands on one.
  19. OMG! Had a look at the pre-production model of the 071 in Marks Models. You may have not thought it possible but, it's far superior to anything that Murphy Models has done before. You have to go and see it for yourself.
  20. 85% is good enough for me. I have an old Lima CIE set from the 70s and that was 0.99%
  21. Thanks Warbonnet! Only for you I wouldn't have known that it's on display. I'll be rushing over there tomorrow (Thursday 17th inst.).
  22. I'm really a big fan of the current Silver and Black livery. It's most likely that they will sell the quickest, however, there will be a big demand for the the Supertrain livery version if it is numbered 071. I bought 6 of the weathered 141/181s in the IR/IÉ liveries but, I wouldn't advise Paddy to release any weathered versions of the 071s, especially, after seeing the fantastic job some of you guys can do.
  23. Was it not in the too distant past that Murphy Models Lima Class 201s were fetching well in excess of €200? I think the items that 590004 has on offer are of far superiour quality and the prices are reasonable.
  24. Saw the pre-production in Mark's Models also, they really are impressive. I'll certainly be getting some to go with my 071s.
