Without being overly critical of the compromises IRM had to make for its Irish stock still running on OO gauge, the brakes are in line with that gauge rather than being on the correct place on the bogie, maybe it would have looked too weird for them to be in the correct position with the wheels themselves inboard on the bogies Quote
