The method of mounting to the underframe may be different to MM's method, so might not be a straightforward swap even without the lighting equipment.

@Horsetan The method of mounting the bogies on the new MM MkIId coaches is different to the originals and not compatible for a direct retrofit.

Oh that would make life so easy. Without being overly critical of the compromises IRM had to make for its Irish stock still running on OO gauge, the brakes are in line with that gauge rather than being on the correct place on the bogie, maybe it would have looked too weird for them to be in the correct position with the wheels themselves inboard on the bogies

That's instantly ruined any straight swap prospects
