Built several years ago from the MTK white metal kit.  The body is mounted on a shortened and modified Lima Class 33 chassis and Ultrascale wheels have replaced the Lima pizza cutters.

Final additions were MJT horns and windscreen wipers.  Spares box buffer beam details and light weathering to the chassis.

Cheers

Darius

PS I think I may have fixed the roof parts on the wrong way around - not much I can do about this now…

Looks like you had fun with that.  plenty of weight for the chassis being cast, neat joins on bodyside.

A class that did not quite get there after rebuild, too small a class and engine issues plus 73s being rather more than a box on wheels along with a loss of traffic gave them a short life.

Thanks for showing

Darius,

Well done with the class 74. It really looks the part, one of the better MTK kits.

I did a class 71 many years ago from an MTK kit and also used the Lima class 33, the body was so heavy the chassis bent. Having said that the MTK kit went together really well and if I saw an MTK kit for a class 74 at a good price I would consider buying it.
