Richard EH Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Hi all, Thought I'd start a thread for the IRRS Manchester branch events, these are all detailed on our branch website here. We're a friendly bunch so you'll be very welcome in person or onion for any of our talks. Our next talk is in Bury, this coming Thursday afternoon. Andrew Waldron will present 'An Irish Railway Miscellany' and having seen the draft slides - there will be something for everyone. If you want the dial in details, or to be added to our mailing list, then do please drop me a line for further details. Most of our talks are conventional evening talks and usually held in Central Manchester. The full programme for early 2025 is on the branch website as per the link above. If you want any more details, please let me know. Richard. 3 1

Broithe Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 A local publican was a notorious gruff character and one of his customers was a very quiet chap, who rarely said much, but that would generally be worth hearing. One day, the customer asked -"Willie, what are those vegetables that make you cry?" "Onions." "No, the ones that make you cry." "Onions, Jerry!" "No, no, the ones that make you cry." "Onions! Onions! They're fecking onions, Jerry!" "Ah, you obviously never had a belt of a turnip." -------- 3
