amdaley Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 My daughter was shopping in an antique shop when she came across this & bought it for me. I think its from a signal box but I'm not sure what it's purpose is ? I think its a signal section indicator ? As far as I know it came from the UK ? 2
Horsetan Posted November 2, 2025 Posted November 2, 2025 It's a block indicator from a signal box 1 1
amdaley Posted November 3, 2025 Author Posted November 3, 2025 (edited) Anyone have any idea what I'm likely to find in there or what sort of voltage these things worked at ? All I know is that it's heavy It's supposed to be a Christmas present so I told her to take it away until then. Edited November 3, 2025 by amdaley

I had access to a similar thing about 40 years ago and could make the needle swing with a 9v battery Edited November 3, 2025 by Galteemore 1
Wexford70 Posted November 3, 2025 Posted November 3, 2025 William Robinson and the track circuit. Version 1.0. 2022-08-20.pages I think they used a low voltage (9-12v) where the connection was made by the wheels of the train. The indicators would be moved by the voltage to indicate a train within the section of track. 1
