GSWR 90 Posted May 31 Posted May 31 Does anyone happen to have the Deutz works numbers for each G611 loco? Thanks
0 Mol_PMB Posted May 31 Posted May 31 I recall this was discussed on the forum about a year ago and there was some conflicting info, or at least they weren’t in order. I’m not in front of my library at present, I’m afraid.
0 jhb171achill Posted June 5 Posted June 5 Of the seven, only three were scrapped. G616 is at Carrick, and on the DCDR there are G611, G613 and (in traffic) G617. Thus, we can get four of these numbers easily enough. The ITG has them listed as works numbers 57225-31 IN ORDER (G611-7). As an aside, the earlier trio, G601-3, were (again, in order) 56118-20. 1

I'd be interested in learning more about their work at CSÉ if it gives more details. I'm not sure why 613's plates are black and brown. Maybe a varnish that went funny? Here is a photo from the early 2010s, and they're very definitely black and silver: And here's a photo of it in the 1990s, in cream and black: 2
0 Mol_PMB Posted June 7 Posted June 7 It’s from one of the later edition ITG stockbooks. Let me check tomorrow and see what else I have on their use with CSE - there’s an IRRS journal article on the Gs as well, which I have a copy of.

Thank you, no worries as I've pored over that IRRS article plenty of times!
