How many different types of sound decoder are there for the 201? I know the model shop do one, and then is mrsoundguy's the only other one out there? Looking for one for Christmas but model shop apparently don't have them in stock.

There are only 2. Murphy's one and ModelShop Belfast.

I would say contact Gareth directly if you want one of his decoders. He can be easily reached through the Facebook page for the Model Shop. He can at least tell you if he can supply one this side of Christmas.

The more I play with DCC the more I learn what I don't know :) Only discovered this week the MM0044 LokSound chip for Murphy 201 class locos has 'rail clank' as well as 'flange squeal' sound functions. Combine them both in stations where there would be broken rails instead of welded rail and it sounds great.

Clip below of 201 shunting rake of IR mk2 coaches into platform 2 and Kingsbridge station (under construction).

Second part of the clip is LokSound in a 141.
