dave182 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 [video=youtube_share;ZaMT-64FGao] An interesting video I came across this evening. A Polish freight train with car-transporters. He's fairly pelting along, and the Ford Ka's suspension is getting a good work out before it ever hits the tarmac! Combined with the fact that the transport contractor is called ars(e) I think I'd buy a Yaris instead!
Sulzer201 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 It's fairly rough riding all right Dave, the car manufacturer is getting the quality control done on those suspensions for free! Do you know anything about the loco hauling the train? Looks like a Russian or Eastern European built machine? Thanks for posting.
Broithe Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Could be this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PKP_class_SM48 ? Or similar... ..I can't quite make out the number on the front..
Weshty Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Holy crap, that permanent way is as rough as a badger's posterior.
Horsetan Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 Polish PW is a bit rough, that's for sure....
Mike 84C Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 About 15yrs ago I did the Wolscteyn steam experience, pretty rough track hiding in the deep weeds. But we also hired the narrow gauge railway at Zanymiesel for the day, also the driver training tram in Poznan they both put rough track into a hole new perspective. Great experience though.
