Would anyone have a copy of the BBC TV production 'Farewell the Derry Road' which features the 8mm films of railway enthusiast Fred Cooper. It was broadcast a few years ago and I was hoping to obtain a digitised copy, if possible.

Don't mind paying for it.

Thanks - please PM

Sorry guys but that's a bit obvious! I'm trying to get a digitised copy from a Tv recording. YouTube videos are low quality.

Back in 1990s Norman Johnston and I went to Enniskillen to Fred's original 8mm film show. They were amazing nights.

it would be a great advantage to all of Ireland if that line could be reopened, wasn't there a pipe dream to build a new railway from Derry via Letterykenny and on to Sligo a few years ago?

The Derry Road would be a great advantage now. The Donegal scheme though, like many similar proposals, is indeed a pipe dream, and one of the more unrealistic and unviable ones ever dreamed up!

The really sad thing is that every hour, of every day, of every week Bus no. 273 leaves Belfast via Dungannon and Omagh to Derry and every hour, of every day, of every week another bus leaves Derry on the same route to Belfast. Every Sunday evening five double decker buses packed with students leave Omagh alone for Belfast.
