Which is the better G Class Model

I see both Silverfox and Worsley Works have the G Class on their sites. One is a two piece resin kit and the other is in brass.

Any thoughts on which is the better finished product - assuming time and soldering skills are not an issue?

Hi gph2000

As far as I know Silver Fox gives you all the parts for the model body and chassis, but Worsley gives you the body and chassis etches and no castings- not that it needs much castings to complete it, i'd go for the brass kit, but it is a more complex build needing a few self made parts and more figuring out.... that's the fun bit!

The Deutz is a reasonably straight forward build, the main advantage of the Worsley Works kit is that you can fit the loco with a motor and 2 stage gearbox with better slow speed performance than the Spud motor bogie supplied with the Silver Fox rtr loco.

The Worsley 7mm one is ok too, with room for Delrin chain to make it 4wd. Presume the artwork is the same as the 4mm version, so note that it represents the later model. If you want the earlier one you'll need to adapt the windows.
