I came across this documentary about Albania's railway network. A beautiful looking country

A friend went to Albania in the early 1980s, during the Enver Hoxha times.

A bit like going to North Korea now, but even more cut off from 'us'.

Hard to believe but all that rail network was built relatively recently. Albania was the only European country not to have a standard passenger carrying railway before WW2.

Sadly it appears that trains have stopped running there now due to CV19.
