  1. You have some good shots there. If you have any showing the cement silo or the shed in Waterford Yard, or indeed any liner trains in the yard, I wouldn't mind seeing them. I remember being in the yard taking photos mid 90s when the yard was a hive of activity with beet, cement and liners. Good days....
  2. Tom, do you have a gallery anywhere on the web with all of your Waterford area pics?
  3. Coola boola Weshty. Can't wait to see some pics when you get the samples.
  4. Weshty, will you be doing 47' flats aswell as most liners at present use the 47' flat instead of the 42' flat. In fact, I think there are no 42' flats used on liners anymore, but could be wrong on that.
  5. Something like http://www.kickstarter.com might be a useful channel to use for funding such a project, but as Riversuir226 says, you would probably need either a society with an elected committee or an established retailer to back such a venture, before any of the manufacturers would even discuss such a venture. Dapol would be the most likely bet, or maybe Realtrack Models.
  6. Thanks Mayner. Will check out that site and also the Dapol Prestwin kit. GM171 I am thinking of sourcing the parts to make the tank from Plastruct items, as they supply the cylinder and also the dome shaped ends. Thanks again lads. Not the easiest way to do it, but then I suppose if I make one suitable looking tank, I can always check out casting it to make copies of it, as would certainly be the easier option rather than making each tank individually.
  7. I want to have a go at scratchbuilding some bubble cement wagons and was wondering if the wagon guru's on here can point me in the direction of suitable commercially available parts such as leaf springs, j irons, w irons, levers that would be close in looks to those on the bubble cement wagons. Thanks.
  8. Considering MIR were able to produce reasonably detailed and accurately dimensioned kits all those years ago, some of the offerings available at present for quite large sums of money are nothing short of a joke. The later kits produced by MIR were class e.g. ammonia wagons, and this is the level that any new kit should aspire to, or even higher. The prices that some people are charging for inaccurate and dimensionally incorrect models that are also devoid of detail is unreal. I'd rather spend €50 on Plastruct/Evergreen items and give a go at scratchbuilding. I only hope that any future wagon kits that anyone intends to release hit the mark and compliment the excellent details on Murphy Models items.
  9. Have a MM0112 and MM0071 for sale. Both brand new and unused. MM0112 now surplus as 8113 being shortly released and MM0071 was a present, but have too many in that livery. Also have Mk2 black roofed restaurant coach, now surplus to requirements. 071 are €140 each plus €10 P&P. Mk2 is €35 plus €5 P&P. Payment by Paypal only or will accept cash if collecting from me. Can supply pictures if required. PM if interested. Thanks.
  10. Good pics Richie. Both wagons look to be same length which is a start. I will hopefully have a drawing of the Tara wagons shortly, so will be in a position to confirm measurements for that wagon type then. Also, note the two panels at the end i.e. the panel with the wagon number painted on also are slightly thinner than the other panels.
  11. Looking for shale and two bagged cement variant drawings if anyone has them. Willing to reimburse any costs associated with providing me with a copy. Richie - I'm nearly sure that length wise and width wise, the shale and Tara wagons are identical as seem to be based on the same basic wagon design. Not too sure about the height though as only have pics of shale with a 141/181 loco, but height of shale wagon top surround metal strip comes just above the top white line at the side cab window on an IE liveried 141/181 class loco.
  12. Nice one RiverSuir. Thanks. Don't suppose you have a drawing?
  13. Anyone know the dimensions or got a drawing of the Kilmastulla shale wagons?
  14. Would just like to add that any of the modern type model freight wagons previously produced by MIR would be of interest. Majority of the Murphy Models loco's and coaches are from the IR or IE period (i.e. 1987-date), so I would imagine that any freight that ran over that period would sell and would be the most popular, but obviously some wagons would be more poular than others. I base this on the fact that you can still but MM CIE liveried locos and coaches in some dealers, but other more modern liveries sold out within months of being released by MM. Just my ten cents.
  15. Would certainly be interested in a detailed version of the cement bubbles and possibly the beet wagons. Also, 47' container flats, 2 variants of bagged cement wagons and the bogie bulk cement wagons.
  16. Thanks for the photos lads. Guess 8113 is going on the 'To Order' list so..... Love the shot alongside 112 at Limerick Junction.
  17. Seriously tempted to get 113 but apart from the Enterprise, has this been used on any other services with Irish Rail?
  18. One of the old CIE type plated steel and concrete brick style goods sheds that used to be used for Irish Cement bagged cement storage. They were in a number of locations like Tullamore, Cahir, New Ross, Arklow etc and were all similar in design.
  19. Marks Models are saying that these buildings are either half relief or three quarters relief buildings. Is this correct? Would be interested if full relief buildings only. Carlow station looks the dogs fangly bits if it's going to be produced in full relief.
  20. Scania and MAN pumps €9 each, Scania ARP's €10 each and Galway Volvo (Good spot Anthony) €20. Postage for Scania and MAN pumps will be €5 to Ireland and Scania ARPs and Galway Volvo will be €7 to Ireland.
  21. I'll be doing a car boot sale in the GAA Club in Wicklow Town this coming Saturday, so if anyone is interested in any of the models that I have listed, I can bring them along on the day.
  22. Selection of 1:76 OO scale Oxford Diecast fire engines for sale. Also, a 1:64 scale Galway Fire Service Iveco fire tender.
  23. Have a new unused MM0146 model for sale. €100 plus €10 P&P to Ireland, or collection can be arranged by prior arrangement. Payment by Paypal only.
  24. That took a while Anthony. Thought you would have had that well by now, as was posted Monday lunchtime. Glad you got it safely anyway mate.
