1. I think if anyone can come up with a prototypical Irish 20' chassis, you are onto a winner as this forms the basis for many other Irish wagons. Weshty, just curious if you will be releasing the 47' flat anytime soon, and if you will consider doing a brass etch for the fertiliser wagon doors, seen as you have the 42' flat wagon nearly ready for release. If the doors were available as an add non, one could construct a fertiliser wagon with a few bits of plastic, as they were built on a 42' flat wagon chassis, if I am not mistaken? Thanks.
2. Still can't understand why Murphy Models hasn't produced any wagons to go with those magnificent locos. Take the cement bubble for example.....the average modeller will buy enough to make a decent sized rake, so even if the minimum run is 5,000 wagons, I can't see how they wouldn't sell over time. Obviously, it has to be financially worthwhile, so maybe use one of those project funding sites such as Kickstarter, where you either pledge or provide your cash up front. At least then, you will know if the project is viable or not.
3. I might be mistaken about the cover but there was a picture of an A class in CIE livery with IR points in it if memory serves correct.
4. Thanks Leslie. It's not From CIE to IR book either. The one I'm thinking of must be published about 10 years at this stage.
5. No, it's not either of them lads. I could be mistaken about the cover, but it was a pictorial type book, in the same format as the Iarnrod Eireann book by Tom Ferris. But thanks anyway lads.
6. I'm looking for the name of an Irish Rail pictorial book that was released maybe 10 years or so ago. If I remember correctly it had a picture of an 001 Class in Drogheda on the cover. Anyone any ideas what it was called. It's not the Iarnrod Eireann 20 years of progress book, but was a similar size and format to that one. Thanks.
7. Awesome as in streets ahead of any other Irish freight wagon kit available at present.
8. not sure if people seen the latest pics from Studio Scale Models......awesome
9. Wish someone would do a proper RTR Irish 20' wagon that would fit under both the bubble and bagged cement, and many other Irish wagons. Perhaps D&M Modelmakers or Weshty might consider it now that some lovely wagon top kits are becoming available. Based on the photos of Weshtys 40' and ammonia wagons and D&M's Enterpise and 2600 unit, we definitely have some excellent modelmakers ready to fill the void if one of them feel like making that giant step.......please?
10. As new unused MM0082 071 Class in black/silver freight livery for sale. €120 o.n.o. Payment by Paypal only unless collecting in person.
11. Top notch stuff. If the container flats and ammonia wagons are to this standard, should be well worth the wait
12. MIR 40' wagons still look pretty good for their age and simplicity. Can't wait to see Weshty's offering of the 42' and 47' wagons. Test etchings must be due any day now The 40fts got their bogies and I fitted some hornby tension lock couplings with a dab of the ol Superglue to test run them. They will be fitted with Kaydees so I am waiting on a sample pack that was picked up from Warley last weekend (Freaked out at the price of It!!!). I need o put a 2mm shim in between the bogie and the frame as the wheels where touching the frames when cornering. Little bit of plastic tube did the trick cut on a square. EDIT: just looked at these and the piccy quality is not great, I used a small setting on me camera so might up it a bit for the next ones.
13. So is it correct to say that 077, 078, 084 and 087 never carried black/silver freight livery? Did all other members of the class carry black/silver livery? How many locos are now carrying grey livery?

16. Just looking at photo again. Looks like new IE logo doesn't have the feint lines running through it either.
17. Just checked with modelshopbelfast and the model will be produced with front grab rails in place, as it would have been cost prohibitive to re-tool the cabs to reflect the prototype with no front grab rails. Also, noticed that the yellow area seems to be curved at the edges, but the prototype is 90 degree straight edges, is it not? Still looks an excellent model though. Might invest in both and get one of the skilled craftsmen on here to rectify the handrail situation.
18. Bubbles and bagged cement variants and bulk cement wagons. Those bogies and buffers look the business too. You should defo think about making them available as most definitely a market there for them.
19. Anthony, did you use the lower half from an 8113(correct lights) and the cabs(correct size yellow front) from a 112 to create 111? Lovely job on it.
20. Dave, running no. Is 071 and it is in black/silver livery
21. Brand new unused Murphy Models MM0071 for sale. €140 to include free postage. Payment by Paypal only, unless collecting where you can pay cash.
22. Many thanks for the cement silo pics Tom. Just what I was after.
23. You have some good shots there. If you have any showing the cement silo or the shed in Waterford Yard, or indeed any liner trains in the yard, I wouldn't mind seeing them. I remember being in the yard taking photos mid 90s when the yard was a hive of activity with beet, cement and liners. Good days....
