  1. Interested in MM0143 and MM0156 if in mint condition.
  2. My research on wagons has been put on the back burner at present, as there appears to be insufficient information available. I have instead turned my research to the carriages built and introduced by C.I.E. from 1950-1980's and possibly up to present day, with a view to a possible publication in the future. I am appealing for anyone that may have CIE coach drawings to contact me if they are willing to provide a copy as a basis for creating detailed scale line drawings which I would hope to include in any publication. I would also be interested in hearing from anyone with photographs of CIE built coaches, and in particular, showing roof or end details. Any assistance will, of course, be fully acknowledged should my work reach publication stage. Thanks.
  3. Excellent idea for a layout there, Richie. Certainly out of the ordinary. Look forward to seeing it come to fruition, especially the buildings. Should be epic knowing your handiwork.
  4. John, are you still considering producing correct scale length and width CIE stock, or is it just the etches to fit the Dapol coach? Also, are the earlier heating and luggage van kits still available?
  5. Couple of questions re modifying Murphy Models locos. 1. Has anyone tried removing factory applied weathering? If so, what method did you use? Was it successful? 2. Has anyone tried removing dayglo panels? If so, what method did you use? 3. Is the tablet catcher or blanking plate glued onto the cab sides or does it slot in?
  6. Murphy Models MM0112 now on ebay http://www.ebay.ie/itm/131296720206?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1558.l2649
  7. New and unused Murphy Models MM0112 model for sale. €140 o.n.o. Postage extra. I can meet in some areas of Dublin near where I work if that helps, or collection from Arklow. Payment by Paypal only if posting, or can pay on meeting or collection.
  8. Superb piece of scratchbuilding there. Two questions - would you consider releasing the 20' wagon base for sale and any chance of posting the dimensions or a drawing of the pallet cement wagon please? Thanks

  10. Can anyone confirm what period there were two ex-TPO vans in the weedspray train consist i.e. 638A and 639A? One of the pictures posted in this thread shows two being hauled by a CIE liveried loco. Were these two vans of similar layout? Any information appreciated. Thanks.
  11. Thanks John. Any idea when the TPO's operated until? Also, what was the period that your heating and luggage vans operated in I.e. When were they withdrawn from service? Many thanks.

  13. Which of Mayner's kit produced so far would have still been used in 1987 i.e. when Irish Rail was created? Not well informed on CIE coaches I'm afraid.
  14. So do you still do weathering George?
  15. If you are interested in Irish railfreight or on-track plant, check out the Facebook group of the same name. Group contains photos of PW works from the PW workers involved in them, numerous on-track plant photos and photos of freight trains and wagons, including detailed shots for the modellers amongst us.
  16. Don't ask lol. Watched those video clips recently. Stuck in me head for some reason. I know I've seen a photo or two somewhere also of those containers, but for the life of me, can't remember. Might find them yet.
  17. Kirley, you can spot a Merlinir 40' wagon in this video clip of a liner.
  18. 47' 6" wagon is 14455mm in length not including buffers. Distance between centre of bogies is 9449mm according to drawing that I have. That makes it 8' 3" approx from centre of bogies to wagon end, not including buffers. Hope this helps lads.
  19. Thanks for the update.
  20. Just curious if anyone has made improvements to their Murphy Models 071 models, such as replacement wipers or horns, or any other modifications. If so, what replacement parts have you used?
  21. Any update on the 20' and 22' wagons?

    Bulleid TPO

Interested in Tool van version. Thanks.
  23. Any update on the ammonia wagons, barrier wagons and the 42' flats Des?
  24. Can anyone tell me if the cab side tablet catcher blanking plate on models such as MM0078 (IE small logo with original marker lights) and MM0080 (IR logo) is glued on or simply plugs into a cab side hole? Also, are the orange paint shades on these two models the same? Thanks.
  25. Looking for back issues of Rail Express magazine from 2010 onwards if anyone has magazines they are looking to get rid of.
