  1. Can anyone confirm what period there were two ex-TPO vans in the weedspray train consist i.e. 638A and 639A? One of the pictures posted in this thread shows two being hauled by a CIE liveried loco. Were these two vans of similar layout? Any information appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Thanks John. Any idea when the TPO's operated until? Also, what was the period that your heating and luggage vans operated in I.e. When were they withdrawn from service? Many thanks.

  4. Which of Mayner's kit produced so far would have still been used in 1987 i.e. when Irish Rail was created? Not well informed on CIE coaches I'm afraid.
  5. So do you still do weathering George?
  6. If you are interested in Irish railfreight or on-track plant, check out the Facebook group of the same name. Group contains photos of PW works from the PW workers involved in them, numerous on-track plant photos and photos of freight trains and wagons, including detailed shots for the modellers amongst us.
  7. Don't ask lol. Watched those video clips recently. Stuck in me head for some reason. I know I've seen a photo or two somewhere also of those containers, but for the life of me, can't remember. Might find them yet.
  8. Kirley, you can spot a Merlinir 40' wagon in this video clip of a liner.
  9. 47' 6" wagon is 14455mm in length not including buffers. Distance between centre of bogies is 9449mm according to drawing that I have. That makes it 8' 3" approx from centre of bogies to wagon end, not including buffers. Hope this helps lads.
  10. Just curious if anyone has made improvements to their Murphy Models 071 models, such as replacement wipers or horns, or any other modifications. If so, what replacement parts have you used?
  11. Any update on the 20' and 22' wagons?

  14. Can anyone tell me if the cab side tablet catcher blanking plate on models such as MM0078 (IE small logo with original marker lights) and MM0080 (IR logo) is glued on or simply plugs into a cab side hole? Also, are the orange paint shades on these two models the same? Thanks.

  19. Looking for the 1979 and 1981 editions if anyone has a spare copy or knows the whereabouts of any for sale. Thanks.
  20. It's on the Irish railfreight Facebook group page.
  21. I was always under the assumption that the Tara logo, as carried on the wagons when they were blue, was a lime green colour. However, just came across a really close up shot which shows the logo to be grey. Can anyone shed any light if different colour logos were carried on the wagons?
  22. And not quite the season to be jolly yet, but for when it is, we have this one
  23. Came across this during my travels on the inter web. Perfect head on shot just waiting to be made into mini posters for layouts.
