  1. No photos at the moment. I will get a plan drawn and start a link in the layouts file
  2. Lovely that's what I thought but wanted to make sure, thanks
  3. Afternoon you knowledgeable lot, a question for you all. What was the most used colours for stations and signal boxes in the late 50s early 60s. IE window frames, windows, doors guttering ect. My station on the new layout is a small building with a single platform, the run round loop, sidings are up from the station and controlled from small signal box
  4. Follow all my layouts on hon30dawes.co.uk Just starting a new Irish layout set in the 1960s and going with the Peco Bullhead, reason, the spacing of the sleepers makes the 16.5 look wider , a bit pricey for the points but the fiddle yard will be setrack so cheaper. www.hon30dawes.com

  6. What was the standard size of turntables on the CIE network.want to put one on my new layout to turn the 121 class but they are so expensive except for the Peco one, but that's a 75' span. Also when did it become law for the 121s to be turned ?
  7. Many thanks, and let's hope you can sort something out
  8. Thankyou, it will be for exhibitions, and probably get a peco feature
  9. Hi all. As the planing for the layout progresses I would love to know what you early diesel years modellers use for your 4 wheel rolling stock, ie cattle van, closed vans, you get the drift. Cheers in advance. www.hon30dawes.co.uk
  10. Chris Dyer Fairs has stocks of A class and 121 class if anyone was interested

  11. Nice to see another company doing Irish railways. Yes they might no be totally accurate but they do look super and will fit on my early 60 layout with a 121 class. Well done Hatton's, now how about some freight stock and maybe have a go at redoing the 141 class. Ok just dreaming
  12. 18.2 EM gives me a better width over 16.5. I still want to use RTR stock and locos with a small mount of conversion on wheel sets/bogies . Also EM gives me a good choice for track including point work. Thanks everyone for your input
  13. Hi . I'm new here but was thinking of EM for my new Irish layout and joining the EM society
  14. Ok so a follow up for the 141s, where would I go for axles for these locos?
  15. Morning all. Just thinking about building a new 1960s Irish layout but don't like the look of the standard Ho/OO track. The peco Bullhead looks a lot better but how about converting to EM 18.2. Are the Murphy's 121 and 141 easily converted without new axles ect and just moving the wheels slightly ?
  16. I ordered some Bullhead track last year and yes it was all very drawn out experience. Only just rejoined forum so only just noticed this post
  17. All stock sold, thanks on advice but I've used Ebay since 2002 and have above 4000 on feedback
  18. Please keep an eye on Ebay over the next few days as I'm selling all my Irish OO, 6 fert wagons already listed
  19. Thanks everyone, just what I needed to know
  20. As long as it's been done in real life that's good with me for a model railway, thanks
  21. Thanks, did the 121s or 141/181s ever run with them?
  22. Did the 2600 push pull (ex railcar) sets run with a steam heat van?
  23. I am using the metcalfe card kits for my low relief buildings with different shop names and down pipes and window sills added, also roofs are changed to a textured card. My station building is a Bachmann Irish one
  24. Super thanks on the thoughts
  25. Locos have foam between cab end and box foam to stop them moving
