  1. Amazing job guys. Model really captures the heft of the wagon shape. The axels are the dogs danglies and love the coupling hook on the model too. Just top work. Imagining what those axel caps would looking like on a MM loco in some sort of bogie refit. Can I ask what you are going to do with the lid options? The new round on these red oxide, the corrugated on the blue? Another run for the point top in the 90s brown rust like the ballasts? It's only lately you see the wagons in red oxide as the maintenance routine seems to have really stepped up in the past 10 years.
  2. I think it was just done to see how well it would work. Only to come to terms there are not enough for 2x 18 wagon rakes plus maintenance and cripple spares.
  3. Then when the timber traffic to Sligo stopped, a batch of the 62fts then had their stanchons removed and were converted for the CWR train for the PWD. This has caused an issued recently when it was discovered that there are now not enough 62ft timber wagons to increase from 12 to 18 wagon timber trains after the trials for 36 to 54 TEUs were completed last year.
  4. Think there are 3 types from what I can see. The round, rectangle with 4 spokes and then plain rectangle one. Kind of like the HUO wagons if they had rectangle buffer heads.
  5. It was the traverser at Alexander Road that had to be modified to take the extra length of the 071.
  6. Ah, that's why I called them spark guards earlier and Richie thought I was on about something else on the bogies.
  7. What is the technical name for the sheet metal that covers the bogies on the flats. The later flats seem to have them.
  8. A question about the 42fts. Are you going to offer round buffers as an option like the UK HUO hoppers. Same with the older Ride Control bogies or just to another run or older 42s. Also will there be a version with the spark guards fitted?
  9. The plough vans sound epic. Also please do the weedspray coach, I have the silverfox one and love something better.
  10. When built as new from 1977 till they weathered so bad you couldnt tell they were blue anymore.
  11. They will be doing the blue tara livery too.
  12. Have the credit card warmed up for a rake of Taras when they go live myself. All while sipping a few beers at home if the shops don't run out.
  13. What I have noticed about the Taras though is that you almost never saw them in red oxide as regularly as the past 8 years or so. Before then almost always brown with red patches. To me it's almost like the wagons got more attention since the the withdrawal of the cement flows.
  14. Guys, just saw the full rake for 375. Which is a great deal in my opinion. Is there a further reduction with the discount ballast code. Can't wait for these, cheers.
  15. Fran, will these wagons be ballasted, can lid be removed and ballast placed inside? I was impressed with the weight of the bubbles given their size, just hope these have a little heft to them.
  16. They are going to be icing on the cake. I'm intrigued by the kinematic couplers? Love to know more bout them.
  17. Noticed wagon number 26 in there. Hope its a typo guys. 26 and 27 are ex shakes. Edit looks like 20 not 26. Limited by my phone screen. Are you doing a rake special price with the ballast discount codes? Delighted they are so close now, they always fascinated me fir some reason. Can't wait to all these features up close in person.
  18. Have to echo the above myself. 5 and the Taras, that's a busy year indeed and just for the Irish market I take it? That's all my holidays cancelled, time to start adding to the secret slush fund herself lets me have Thankfully for me I think I'm starting to get her into this hobby somehow
  19. It was, but to a different layout to 1508 and 09. 1518 didn't last long in that configuration and was returned to standard config in a short time. 1509 existed as a mini buffet config from about 1990 to 1993, so short time frame for it too.
  20. Knew she'd be late livery Dave. She was modified a bit after '87. Shame about the bogie issues again.
  21. Only 3 071s the the black and silver now. 074, 75 and 86. Glad to see the back of that livery tbh. Wonder how much longer the Mk1 weedspray will hang in there, word was that is was to be scrapped end of 2016 and one of the 2 Mk3s converted, suppose that would mean air braking the rest of the train too.
  22. 216 went back to NIR today releasing 8208 from night ballast duties to it's usual Enterprise pool rotation.
  23. Thought the orange bubbles were project 4. Taras were 3.
  24. Two restaurants in the rake. Sligo and Wexford, they are formed up together between the 5 sleepers and observation coach. They are just converted standards though 7171, 7169 not ex IE Restaurants. The Wanderer on Boards replied to you Dave with the Belmond rake list. 87104 (ex 7601) - EGV / Crew Mess (Carlow) 87110 (ex 7130) - Crew Sleeper (Donegal) 87001 (ex 7116) - Guest Sleeper (Fermanagh). 87002 (ex 7158) - Guest Sleeper (Leitrim). 87003 (ex 7129) - Guest Sleeper (Waterford). 87004 (ex 7149) - Guest Sleeper (Down). 87005 (ex 7137) - Guest Sleeper (Kerry). 87101 (ex 7171) - Restaurant (Sligo) 87102 (ex 7169) - Restaurant (Wexford). 87103 (ex 7104) - Observation Lounge Car (Kildare).
  25. I ment that I was wondering what the wagons numbers were when they were shales. Just out of curiosity and roughly when they were converted.
