  1. Thanks 76, better luck next time.
  2. Probably last time to get 086 in the freight livery on a tour too, she's in a bad way externally. I reckon she is next in line for overhaul.
  3. Was hoping for 071 or 073 for tomorrows run, but alas. Looks like 076 will be hauling from Connolly to Waterford, where a now cleaned up 085 will take over for the run to Limerick. Dunno what's on the home run yet. Never been on a train hauled by 76 or 85 before so all good anyway.
  4. The only freight working I know of on Saturday is the 09:35 IWT liner ex-Northwall to Ballina. There may also be an up working around 15:00 ex Ballina for Northwall but it depends on demand that particular week. No DFDS or timber workings run on Saturdays generally.
  5. Really looking forward to this on Saturday myself. Can't wait to sit back and chill with a pint of the black stuff while being hauled around listening to 071s for 12 hours. Even managed to convince herself to come along for this one too. Her only question: Is there a bar coach on this? Me: Yes. Her: Grand so.
  6. I am selling an N gauge UK Class 08 in DB Schenker livery. It's Graham Farish, as new, never run, boxed. €75 3x Network Rail JNA Falcon wagons. Dapol factory weathered and boxed. €15 each. Can do a deal on the lot for €100 and or part exchange for anything in 00 Irish outline considered.
  7. Wow, the buffer faces are massive.
  8. Thought it was the early blue livery gone wrong.
  9. Hi guys, Noticed you updated the site banner with the tara wagon, should it not be on the other side of the bubble or swap the ballast and bubble around? It's my OCD acting up.
  10. Amazing job guys. Model really captures the heft of the wagon shape. The axels are the dogs danglies and love the coupling hook on the model too. Just top work. Imagining what those axel caps would looking like on a MM loco in some sort of bogie refit. Can I ask what you are going to do with the lid options? The new round on these red oxide, the corrugated on the blue? Another run for the point top in the 90s brown rust like the ballasts? It's only lately you see the wagons in red oxide as the maintenance routine seems to have really stepped up in the past 10 years.
  11. I think it was just done to see how well it would work. Only to come to terms there are not enough for 2x 18 wagon rakes plus maintenance and cripple spares.
  12. Then when the timber traffic to Sligo stopped, a batch of the 62fts then had their stanchons removed and were converted for the CWR train for the PWD. This has caused an issued recently when it was discovered that there are now not enough 62ft timber wagons to increase from 12 to 18 wagon timber trains after the trials for 36 to 54 TEUs were completed last year.
  13. Think there are 3 types from what I can see. The round, rectangle with 4 spokes and then plain rectangle one. Kind of like the HUO wagons if they had rectangle buffer heads.
  14. It was the traverser at Alexander Road that had to be modified to take the extra length of the 071.
  15. Ah, that's why I called them spark guards earlier and Richie thought I was on about something else on the bogies.
  16. What is the technical name for the sheet metal that covers the bogies on the flats. The later flats seem to have them.
  17. A question about the 42fts. Are you going to offer round buffers as an option like the UK HUO hoppers. Same with the older Ride Control bogies or just to another run or older 42s. Also will there be a version with the spark guards fitted?
  18. The plough vans sound epic. Also please do the weedspray coach, I have the silverfox one and love something better.
  19. When built as new from 1977 till they weathered so bad you couldnt tell they were blue anymore.
  20. They will be doing the blue tara livery too.
  21. Have the credit card warmed up for a rake of Taras when they go live myself. All while sipping a few beers at home if the shops don't run out.
  22. What I have noticed about the Taras though is that you almost never saw them in red oxide as regularly as the past 8 years or so. Before then almost always brown with red patches. To me it's almost like the wagons got more attention since the the withdrawal of the cement flows.
  23. Guys, just saw the full rake for 375. Which is a great deal in my opinion. Is there a further reduction with the discount ballast code. Can't wait for these, cheers.
  24. Fran, will these wagons be ballasted, can lid be removed and ballast placed inside? I was impressed with the weight of the bubbles given their size, just hope these have a little heft to them.
  25. They are going to be icing on the cake. I'm intrigued by the kinematic couplers? Love to know more bout them.
