  1. Would anyone know the top speed of this locomotive? Or any specifications/characteristics?
  2. Most definitely vandalism... Sure look at C227 (otherwise known as "C202")!
  3. Sponsored by Murphy Models and Studio Scale Kits!
  4. Ah don't worry, I think IE could shrink it down to 00 gauge to save money!
  5. Most likely chopped up at Inchicore! And no, it's a Mark 3 of some sort, it appears to be on temporary bogies... I can only assume it was the spares for the Belmond set or the intended replacement of the Mark 1 Sperry coach (a buffet Mark 3 was also supposed to work in junction with the aforementioned Mark 3). Here's to hoping the last 141s can be saved somehow... haha...
  6. And so she was... This is a screenshot that I found a while back. I'm certain 162 has also been scrapped, as I can't find her anywhere-
  7. I believe she was just about to reach 49 years of service, she was withdrawn in November 2011 - surprisingly passing the 47 years and 2 days that 124 had served from Feb 1961 to March 2008!
  8. I believe so! They were the last 141s in service, with 171 being the last 141 to have been ever used in mainline service (Nov 2011?), and 162 being used to shunt B113 at Inchicore when it was being moved to Cultra in late 2011
  9. 144 was scrapped in March 2022, I'm unsure about 162, 171, 177 and 147... I can only assume that 162 would be next, as it's in the worst condition of them all.
  10. Right here! May not be a coach, but here they are in use. This was 134 awaiting overhaul at the Inchicore Works. 7/9/2017 Credit - G. Mooney
  11. I believe they are temporary bogies, which are put in place when a coach/locomotive's actual set of bogies are removed (for reconditioning, repainting, etc.) That's where the temporary bogies come to use. I remember seeing photos of 134 on temporary bogies when it was in it's early stages of restoration. Now, I'm not entirely sure if these type of bogies will be "temporary" on this Mark 3B SLE, as they seem to be permanent on this one
  12. Hi all; I am currently planning to make some GNR(I) or GSR-related locos, the U, S, and Q/QS Class locos in particular. I was wondering if anyone would have any diagrams (or drawings) of said locos? Or perhaps some others? Thank you. An example would be something like the diagram below.
  13. Much appreciated, thank you!
  14. Hi lads, just wondering, is there any coloured pictures of this loco in service? I'm currently trying to figure out the colours of the CIE (green) livery the 500(s) wore. Thanks.
  15. Might've had a bad flu... Poor 121!
  16. I do agree with you, the green looks... Ugly, to put it lightly.
  17. Perhaps! Cool seeing another photo of it! Hope there's more...
  18. Here's the same DVT mock up in Inchicore in May 1988! Credit - seagoebox/Michael ...Was she repainted and given different headlights in 1989? Or is this a different mock-up? Credit - SouthernYard on YouTube
  19. On the topic of liveries and 121s, that reminded me of something... In '89, 124 received a "Suburban" livery; essentially the IR (1987) livery but with a dull green stripe. A Mark 3 was also given this treatment, but the livery on that was very short-lived, even shorter than 124's livery. Apparently the idea was a mix of the DART? I'm not too sure, I wouldn't take my word for it, but that's what the description below the original photo had stated. Does anyone have any more photos of this livery of 124? Perhaps even the unknown Mark 3 that had also received a similar livery? Any info is much appreciated, thank you. Credit - seagoebox/Michael
  20. Indeed! Still curious as to what/how she's doing as we speak...
  21. Still can't get over how gorgeous she looked in May '22... Spanking clean too - a sight I like to see! Credit - own work
  22. Anyone know what platform she'll be rolling into Connolly?
  23. That's what I'm wondering haha... Hope they don't treat her like B141; used her once for a railtour and let it sit in a shed... I personally think that the colour scheme was a little unwise... As a lot of dirt/dust will make it look like a weathered silver A Class!
