  1. Ah, lovely to hear! I wonder if she'll be able to run under her own power publicly by the end of the year... While 134 is fully done up, poor 124 sadly rots away under tarp along with other rolling stock within Moyasta, Co. Clare - it's a sad fate, that only surviving Mark 3 DVT's body is now corroding from the elements! I genuinely wish they were in a better place...
  2. Now that she's (cosmetically) restored, what's next for her? What is she doing now? Since I saw 134 in her original livery (which was a bittersweet choice in my honest opinion!), I've been curious about the plans set for her! Will she run a railtour by the end of the year? Any info is appreciated!
  3. Oh for sure! They need a nightwatch/security around that area, and perhaps they'll save a few thousand quid removing the spray-paint off of their fleet...
  4. Happens nearly all the time! Or at least, it seems like it... There's a few videos on Youtube of censored vandalists spraying units (particularly the DART units) with paint and ruining them altogether. I don't know how, but people are disguising themselves as staff and head into Fairview depot to ruin these hard-working units...
  5. Two months later, and yet nothing else about 224 has been heard of... If they actually are repairing her, I'm starting to wonder if it's going to take ages like it did with 225...Got damaged in 2010 and was ready to run (no pun intended!) in 2019.
  6. Hello and good afternoon! I have been wanting to make a self-built model for a while, and it is to make any form of Irish rolling stock (or locos/DMUs too!), but I would like some diagrams for reference. I do not mind if it's between the '40s to the mid 2000s, I'd be happy enough to make anything during those years...I cannot find many, as finding them is quite hard. Thank you. Example down below:
  7. Oh? I didn't notice that...Perhaps she may be returning to service at some point?
  8. Honestly I'm not too sure, she was in the Bogie Shop at the time...
  9. Regardless, it is good to see her being somewhat repaired, right?
  10. Guess who I found in the Inchicore Works during the 2022 Opening Day? 224 herself! She seems to look at bit better now, with her frame straightened...Opposed to her little incident in July 2020 Still needs some work done on her, she's gotten a bit grimy, her engine cover hasn't been properly fitted and a few bits missing. Hopefully she'll be back working hard on the mainline as soon as she's repaired!
  11. From Buffer to the end of the tender, how long is a GSR 800?
  12. Hello everyone, and happy 2022. I just want to thank everyone for the information given to me, as this really helps me with the current project I have been working on for a while. I have just realized that at some point the 201s that were in the Intercity Silver/Green have had their undercarriage painted into a dark grey rather than the former ghost grey. Was the reasoning similar to why the A Class were quickly put into a different livery due to the ghost grey being very vulnerable to dirt? Here's 218 freshly painted into her current livery, the Intercity Silver/Green. Note that the undercarriage was originally the ghost grey I previously mentioned. (Credit: Brain Solomon) And then here's 223 the more current dark grey undercarriage rather than a ghost grey... (Credit: unknown)
  13. Would anyone know the dates of when the entirety (Except 201 herself) of the 201 Class were delivered? Apparently, on the 24th March 1995, 228, 229, 230 and 231 were unloaded on North Wall Quay Extension, 231, 229 were hauled to Inchicore by 157, 228 and 230 were hauled by 143 to Inchicore Oh, and yes please, I've been looking for blueprints for a long time. Thank you in advance!
  14. Slightly off topic - but would anyone have any diagrams/blueprints of some of the Mark 3 rolling stock, such as the EGV and the Control car? I may model one soon Ah, fantastic! I wonder when these were both installed and removed...
  15. Ah, so that explains it, the mirrors were used for checking if all the slam-doors rolling stock were closed before departure...Or something like that...
  16. Good evening everyone, I'd like to thank everyone here for providing some crucial information to my ongoing project. I've just realized something...were mirrors installed on the 201 class?
  17. Speaking of incidents and accidents, has there been any other situations involved with the 201? I'm aware 225 once derailed in Mayo, 233 had a failed bearing, 224 bent, 230 caught fire, 211 was in the Knockcroghery derailment...And what else?
  18. Would anyone know what 201 involved in this incident would be? It's a 201 that hauled a Mark 3 set which derailed in Knockcroghery...Any other info about the incident, such as the cause?
  19. That actually does remind me, apparently 229 was the last one to have one of the old Intercity logos before it got replaced with the Iarnrod Eireann logo, but I'm not really sure
  20. Anything about 230? I heard she had repairs in 2017 in the shed, and now she's moved out of it into a siding, coupled to an Orange 201
  21. Lovely! I've added the majority of the info onto the script...Now I just need some more technical information about these absolute units; for example, is there any difference between their engine and the 66's. Thank you all for all of this, it has really helped me with my project. Funny enough, the first time I saw one of these in the Intercity Green and Silver livery, I genuinely thought that the chassis' colour was pure black, since it was so dark from the dirt!
  22. Apparently number 214 was the first one to receive it, but I'm not sure if it's true or whatnot
  23. I do apologize for the low quality, as it was the best close-ups I could really find. But there has to be some kind of difference, the light's shape must've been changed a little, since the 201s nowadays have a rounded and smoother shape.
