You'll be happy to hear there were 3 new IR liveried locos. A dayglo version, non dayglo tipex livery and super train with IR logo. There was also two IÉ models, one with the large LED cluster marker lights and one with the older type which we didn't get in the previous run. I didn't see much difference between them and the first run apart from the roof detail/antennas were fitted.

Regretfully I have decided to put my new layout up for sale unfinished due to space constraints. It is a completely circular layout which in my opinion maximises prototypical running in the minimal space of 2m x 2m. The track, electrics, woodwork, terrain is complete. I had started ground cover, vegetation, ballasting and paving but these remain to be finished. I am requesting €300 for the layout in order to cover the cost of some of the materials used to make it. But I am open to offers.

I will possibly have to sell my new layout soon due to space constraints and I'm looking for alternatives. Kato track seems like a good option to keep trains running while not having space for a more permanent layout. What are people's experiences with Kato track for Irish models? Are there any pros and cons you've come across?

Is there any update on the new releases?

One thing that all of the magazines do is superimpose a background or sky. It makes a massive difference to photos.

It's a single line. That's just a passing loop at the station.

I am selling two sets of IRM spoil containers as they do not suit the era that I model. They would suit any layout set between 2011 and the present day. The asking price is €20 or an exchange for two sets of IRM keg cages.

I've leveled out the area slightly and the 071s get over it no problem now... But the area was fiddled with previously to help other stock get over it so doing this will probably cause other stuck to derail.

The As derail no more than other stock. The main problem items the joins in baseboards. The track flattens out a bit and also lowers as I had to make the bed solid at the joins in order for it to not move and mess up track alignment. The other issue is that I have points right next to the baseboard joins. So when the derailing happens it's usually because one wheel set is hovering above the rails as the other wheels are sitting on track that it's slightly higher in level. This results in the free wheel set derailing and causing a short. The MM 071s are the worst culprit for this. As can be seen in the photo below the level difference is very slight but the problems it causes means I can't run trains...

I'm going to have to tear all of the track up and start again. The amount of derailments are doing my head in.
