Good to hear of another prodigal railway modeller. There is no reason why you can't have sessions on different days for running Irish and BR stock on your layout. Especially since that real life issue of track guage can be ignored.

Not many would notice the inaccuracies and even fewer would care.

That looks like a very well constructed version of Jim Poot's kit.

Good to have a close look at the latest version of the Dart at the show in Blackrock today. It is an impressive model with special features such as the arcing pantograph.

I saw the model on display at the show today. It looks very good.

The one thing that surprises me is that in 1974 they still felt it necessary, in the Airport Coach ad, to include'(Kingsbridge)' after 'Heuston Station'. After all it was eight years or thereabouts since the stations had been renamed.
It took a lot more than eight years for the name Heuston to become established.

An excellent set of photos to illustrate that interesting story.

He's good at that

There are a couple of the mk2a coaches on ebay at the moment although being sold singly for about the amount they cost as a pair when released.

Wouldn't the driver just turn it off?
-
Only to be expected.

Any chance of one going to Marino?

D-LEG Owner, here Leipziger Eisenbahngesellschaft.
Why don't the 071s have an owner code?

Only seeing this now and please accept my condolences, Eamon.

I don't think the SLNCR ever became part of CIE as it crossed the border into Fermanagh. It closed because the GNR to Enniskillen ceased to exist.

There has not been a finished model made of the E class but there have been two kits. The first was by Fanfare Models (later released by Ryanbus) and the second by Jim Poots. Neither would be available now unless found second hand.

Was the non appearance of the smaller planes the reason for some others going around two or three times?
-
That is a very interesting model of the Carvair. I hadn't seen it before. Wasn't the plane a converted DC4?

Yes, the weather was kind and the display was excellent.
-
Yes, it was to be released today.

Yes, I remember the shop on Monk's Place. It used to open on a Sunday, which was convenient for me.
