  1. Good morning all, The first pictures from my current UK trip are now online at http://smu.gs/1iAg9m0 Day one was a circular trip was a circular trip starting off in Holyhead. Then Crewe - London - Exeter - Bristol Temple Meads - Cardiff - Shrewsbury - Crewe. The pictures include a number of freight trains in the Cardiff area with Class 60's and 66's. The Wanderer.
  2. Good morning folks, Some pictures from last night at Heuston & Howth. The visit to Howth was to see 082 and the Sperry Train at this normal EMU outpost. Pictures begin at Finally, I have been given a photograph of 082 passing Grand Canal Dock with the Sperry train to Wexford last Friday 4th April. This can be seen earlier in the April collection at Enjoy, The Wanderer.
  3. Evening all, Some pictures from the last couple of days. Thursday: - 221 1900 Heuston - Cork at Killinure. Saturday: - A visit to the former Birr Station which closed on New Years Day 1963. The Station Building is now a private resident, while the Goods shed is home to some local businesses. - Saturday afternoon has pictures from Carn Bridge & Killinure, including 086 on the Belview (Waterford) - Portlaoise Steel Train.   4. After its tour of East Cork on Tuesday, the Sperry returned to Portlaoise from Mallow today. A 93 mile trip at 30 mph. It arrived into Portlaoise during lunchtime and I popped down to Clonkeen to photograph it and 22017 on the 1300 Heuston - Cork. Click http://smu.gs/1jZIt7M The Wanderer.
  5. Some updates from me over the last couple of days: Friday 28th March 2014 photos start at http://smu.gs/1dOEV5B - 2813 + 2814 hauling 2708 + 2707 from Limerick to Inchicore for storage. Pictured at Portarlington. - 29010 at M3 Parkway before departure of the 1338 to Clonsilla. - Kilmessan Station House Hotel on the closed line between M3 Parkway and Navan. The station buildings were converted into an hotel in the 1980's. Tuesday 1st April 2014 photos start at http://smu.gs/1iaDWdk - 2813 + 2814 hauling 2715 + 2724 from Limerick to Inchicore for storage. Pictured at Killenard. Plus a couple of 22000 units.   6. A quick visit to Portarlington Station to view 2813 + 2814 hauling stored 2707 + 2708 from Limerick to Inchicore. The Wanderer.
  7. Keep up at the back folks. Yes Biomass traffic and as far as I know its North Wall - Ballina via IWT.
  8. There is a build up of wagons for the biomass traffic as far as I can see.
  9. Good evening all, Tuesday 25th March was a rather interesting day on the Dublin - Cork line with several unusual movements operating. Highlights include: - 2803 + 2804 hauling 2719 + 2721 1100 Limerick - Inchicore for further storage. This follows on from three 2700 Class transfers from Limerick to Cork over the last number of weeks. - Track Recording Car 700 operating 0950 Mallow - Kildare. - 088 1500 Limerick - Portlaoise PWD transfer which consisted of Rail Truck + Sperry Wagon + 11 Flats. - 22015 on a 1355 Laois Depot - Mallow & 1555 Mallow - Heuston Trial.   12. Evening all, A lunchtime visit to a cold and wet Clonkeen to see 2803 + 2804 passing with the 1245 Limerick - Limerick Jct., which was extended to Heuston. Also photographed was 217 with a 35 minute late 1300 Heuston - Cork. Pictures begin at http://smu.gs/1jiyGVH The Wanderer.

  14. Evening all, What started out as a minor detour on the way home from work, turned out to be a cross country trek across the Irish Midlands to the west side of the River Shannon at Athlone.   15. I saw (internal) pictures of it today. I rather like it. I think it may be let loose in the next week or so. MK3 7161 was the test coach for the livery.

Evening all, One of the website contributors, KZG68 was at Connolly this afternoon to see (8)208 arriving from Inchicore with the RPSI’s 461 and BR Van 3185. 461 will be in action this weekend with a railtour to Mullingar.
