Loved that show, it was like Monty Python for kids!

That wasn't lost on me!

Yeah but neither company is bringing any production back to the US. Hasbro production in China stands at 50% and they stated they will reduced that to 40% by 2026, hardly earth-shattering. Mattel are talking about moving some production to other countries again, not the US. They also said they would counter the tariffs by raising prices in the US. So whatever the Mango Mussolini is telling people, his tariffs are not going to have the effect he claimed they would.

The reason they are building warships and nuclear missiles is because other countries keep improving theirs. It's not rocket science.

REVEALED - Our Class 31 Run 2 Announcement Is Here!
irishthump replied to Warbonnet's topic in British Outline Modelling
Couldn't resist. I missed out on the first run so ordered the BR Blue 31418. -
Good to know Boskonay, thanks.
-
My details are correct but none of my preorders are there.

Looks really good! By the way, bristles from a brush make really good reeds and long grass.

The Eagle Has Landed - NIR Hunslets Next For Accurascale IRM

Pulled the trigger and preordered a Falcon (my needs are small!) Sadly I can't get over to the show this year, but kudos to IRM for producing this loco. Can't wait! -
The Eagle Has Landed - NIR Hunslets Next For Accurascale IRM
irishthump replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
Wow! Can't wait! I recently got myself a spare Bachmann class 20 chassis and was about to pull the trigger on a Silver Fox resin kit so this couldn't come at a better time. Only problem is which one to order... -
Well done IRM for being open and transparent with their customers and also for making the effort to still deliver on as much as they possibly can.

Very sad to hear we have lost another member of our community. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Murphy model 141 poor running question
irishthump replied to trainboy's question in Questions & Answers
My guess is they used the same tooling as the earlier run of 141's. -
Damn near perfect weathering.
-
Nice work. Personally I'd put a heavy layer of track/brake dust on the bogies an underframe, but it still looks great.
-
Well if the hat fits...

Nice work! Can I give you a little tip for the road surface? I always find black is a little harsh for tarmac, try rubbing down the road surface with a very fine sandpaper. It gives a lovely worn appearance.

On a whim I bought some of the Hornby magnetic couplings last week and I’ve been experimenting with them. I already fitted them to a rake of the cheap MK1 coaches that came with the My Model Railway Village magazine a few years ago. They’re a little too short for those coaches and need to be glued in part way on the NEM pockets. But one fitted they work fine. I then tried them on the IRM ferts and they seem fine. The coupling bar that IRM provide with the wagons works fine, but I wanted to be able to break the rake down easily for storage. The 17mm Hornby couplers are the perfect size.

Recently picked up a second BR blue class 20 and weathered it over the weekend. I made this into a dummy unit by removing the the drive shafts as my other Class 20 has DCC sound and I’m not buying another sound decoder just yet! The last pic shows the two locos double-heading.

Very sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers to his family.

Finished the other two Prestwin kits and all three are now weathered. Also weathered the 20t mineral wagons.

Yeah as I said my only issue was that the part numbers on the sprue were illegible which resulted in some guesswork and a couple of parts being glued arse about face! The actual quality of the kit is quite good.
