Superb - looking forward to this one. Although when I saw the title I got a bit excited - was hoping for a large attic room with a finescale O gauge layout depicting one of the GNR's jewels! Blue 440s, black 440s and 060s, mahogany (or was it teak?) carriages and a plethora of assorted goods stock. And of course the venerable SLNCR 064s with the railcar and railbus.......

It was an excellent production - a few minor glitches but otherwise very nicely done, with a particular emphasis on the large number of children among the victims. A particularly poignant touch was the featuring of a character who was based on the statue (on The Mall) of a young girl holding a bucket and spade. Nicely done overall with many 'lump in the throat' moments. Well done to all concerned.

Excellent interview here from Fran, with plenty of coverage of the IRM brand and mention also of the forthcoming Irish steam release: https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/news/interview-of-the-week-accurascale-part-1/

At last I have the opportunity to attend the acclaimed dramatic production 'Impact' which tells the story of the Armagh railway disaster in 1889. I shall be there this Saturday evening - the production is taking place at the Market Place Theatre in, appropriately, Armagh. https://marketplacearmagh.ticketsolve.com/ticketbooth/shows/873637762 I shall of course provide a report afterwards! Looking forward to this very much.

Yes I agree too - but more likely 171 in my opinion, as this could be a contribution to the loco's current overhaul. But I have been wrong before with IRM announcements, every single time!

Clogherhead - A GNR(I) Seaside Terminus
Patrick Davey replied to Patrick Davey's topic in Irish Model Layouts
Clogherhead station building exterior almost complete: roof finished today, with barge boards and finials, also guttering and downpipes. Chimneys were also fixed in position and lead flashing installed, and the sliding doors in the platform side glazed panel were also returned to their location. Just the doors to add then a small canopy over the front door, and a larger one on the platform side. An enjoyable build!- 671 replies

Clogherhead - A GNR(I) Seaside Terminus

The station building has progressed sufficiently to be tried in place on the layout. I am happy enough with the dimensions and overall appearance, although there is lots more detailing to be done before it is fixed permanently in place but very happy with this one!- 671 replies

Clogherhead - A GNR(I) Seaside Terminus

Thanks Philip! I can’t claim any credit for the weathering on the roof tiles though because they’re all pre-printed! From Scale Model Scenery, worth checking out! That’s the basic structure of the building assembled with some internal walls added - it’s almost ready to place it on the layout to get an idea of how it will look. Plenty more details to go however. -

Again the time passes quickly and suddenly it’s the wee small hours….. windows completed today on the station building with only the sash panes to be glazed. Wall assembly has also started and weathered tiles were added to the roof. This all means that the main shell of the building is nearing completion.- 671 replies

Very kind comments, thank you DJ! I checked every stand, it must’ve been snapped up or maybe I just missed it! Happy with the bus in the meantime! Great show all together -

More work on decorating the walls of the station building today - the wooden glazed panel has been given a coat of CIÉ 1960s green (thanks @jhb171achill!), window sills have been added and the polychromatic brickwork has been tidied up. Next it'll be the window frames, then the walls can be assembled.- 671 replies

New IRM Announcement This Weekend! What Could it Be?
Patrick Davey replied to Warbonnet's topic in News
I was driving with a work colleague at 12:30pm and she was sharing in my excitement at the announcement and she refreshed my feed when the timer expired, nothing happened and now I look like even more of a total loser……- 99 replies

Yes but the countdown timer on the IRM website was timed to expire today at 12:30pm which seemed weird!!! -
New IRM Announcement This Weekend! What Could it Be?

It’s bad enough from the outside, with the anticipation etc, but it must be agonising from within IRM Towers as they count down the seconds - they know what’s coming but can’t say a word until the time…… if I worked for IRM they would have to lock me away until the announcement as I wouldn’t be able to contain myself
