Thanks Glenderg. Yup, this guy did one of the finest builds I've seen in a long time, and his photography is first class. He was also good enough to let me use the photos as needed, very handy, as a photo is worth six paragraphs of description. If you do decide to go for a kit, I'd start with a tank, (T2, J26 or B4). The J15 is a little bit trickier.

Ouch! Well, just as handy that I also have Firefox then...
-
Looks like it's my version of IE, as it looks perfect on my iPad. All well then ;-)

The flats will be metal, fold and slot brass construction, very simple but effective and accurate. No soldering needed. Rough price €25.
-
Very much already noted and will be included as part of the new model...along with the handwheels, side hooks, under hooks, vertical noticeboard for warning info etc.... ;-) Though if ANYBODY had a decent non-grainy photo to indicate what the hell that central underframe cabinet looks like, it would be deeply appreciated.

It's most noticable on the "pair of twins" photos, but several of the station layout maps have a little bit of lateral squash. The ones further down seem ok though.

Well up Mark Reach! Nice to see someone with heart and a sense of humour on the job.
-
And SSM of course do a one stop shop set of suitable decals if required (C12).
-
Great news all round. It's a very inspirational publication and it will be great to have the photos up in colour where possible. Just checked it, can something be done to lock the aspect ration of the photos as they are squeezed in laterally and it's distorting them?
-
Yup. And detailed photos are as rare as hen's teeth so this one is well special.
-
Oh that's just lovely...thanking you sir.
-
Yup, that one is an absolute honey.

Wouldn't that be lovely. Still, it's great to have a few items on the go, especially ones that don't end up taking 12-18 months for fruition. Bliss!

Hidden-G, We're barely at the end of the first week of Jan and I am designing so much already (despite promising myself a sabbatical after the Sulzer...arrrgh!!) that the 20' is not currently high on the agends. I think Mayner and Dave Kavanagh have some 20 footers cooking in the pipeline? If they don't...then maybe somestage in the future. ;-) Weshty.

Anthony, If the market is there, it will be done ;-)
-
Thanks Kirley, I'll keep ye up to date with developments in terms of bogie and buffer design etc, as well as how I propose the chassis will go together.
-
The Pocket Wagon design is now finalised and ready to go off to the etchers! It also includes handwheels, irish style lift points over the bogies and the footsteps at the buffer beam ends.

I'm looking at c.€45 per kit. The chassis will be a hollow folded brass construction to match the prototype, brass etched detailing (handrails, hooks, screwlink couplings etc.) and the main tanker itself will be a brass tube with resin endcaps. Decals will of course be included. The bogies will be folded brass with brass axle bearings and whitemetal detailing to ensure smooth, true running. The bachmann Y25s are just too narrow under the bogie to be really suitable (and very, very expensive). If there is sufficient interest, I may do a rake of five at a discounted rate. The 42' will be coming out at the same time as it shares a lot of features (bogies, buffers etc.), and of course I will need one for the barrier wagon.

Here's a few more pictures from the Cultra exhibition. I know there is a proper thread here somewhere, but for thelife of me, I can't find it...

You'll be happy to know that I've started in earnest on the patterns for the Ammonia Tankers, and a highly detailed version of the barrier wagon.
