How do you build up the levels on your dioramas?

Lovely work Irish trains can really feel the rural farmyard setting there. wow kinvara they are fantabulous. Good to get pics with the outdoor sky. really helps. Love seeing work in progress pictures. And the suitcase is an actual? z gauge runner? Wont be able to make the Bray show this time round. last time i went i loved it.

repainted the station plat form and added bench's and people. testing the newly painted carriage beside it in place

I actually heard and saw these for the first time in a program on you tube "extreme railways" with Chris Tarrant. The idea of those explosives is brilliant.

And that can be pushed in to corners with tooth picks and not leave gaps.. as in its a little stretchy for that ?

@ Blaine - Im just using the cheap one from Deals. it worked fine on first carriage but not on second one. @Ritchie i will give that a shot at reducing the tackiness. Ok so for stripping off ALL paint off of a carriage what is the best most effective but cheap way to do it ?

So im trying to repaint my second carriage and am failing miserably. I painted on base coat let dry over night put masking tape on to mark out a line il paint white. paint the white line and then try pull off the masking tape to reveal a lovely white line but the base coat is getting peeled off the carriage with the masking tape. Any ideas on how to prevent this? What preparation should i be doing on the carriage before painting?

Its not YOUR snails i don't like its the snails in general i dont like. I don't model on specifics or on realism just on what i like. and i prefer the roundals over the snails.

Transfer /Decals Where do you guys get your CIE decals? I'm looking to get some but cant find a source anywhere. apart from http://www.studio-scale-models.com/TLocos.shtml Just looking for roundals i dont like the look of the snails.

A close up of the test fit after adding a second white stripe at the top and an excuse to use my macro lens adapter worse part is it shows the mistakes and flaws and white leaks

So i haven't modelled or done kits or even painted anything in 20+ years when i was into air-fix Was always terrible at it. now that i have some stock and paints Thanks to jhb171achill i started to break down and repaint a cheap MK1 i got from the start of the model railway village magazine last year or so. This is what it looked like And this is how its starting to look now Yes its based off the CIE colours but not strictly to the design as i dont think they had MK1's. i wouldnt even know an mk1 if i saw one in the flesh. i only know because of the magezine lol but to the un"train"ed eye like mine its looks like it could be CIE. Edit In the first repaint job you can see where the white leaked and black was stripped off the body by the masking tape. That was fixed for the second shot
