  1. Those are absolutely excellent models! Excellent info… Minor point; I think the first 2.6.4T “Jeeps” were 1946…..
  2. Your walls are an absolute stroke of genius. I will employ that method when I get round to scenery, and no need to paint it!
  3. The thing about IRM is that it has evolved into a broader thing than just modellers. My first interest is railway history, with modelling a close second, and I find plenty of general Irish railway interest here. I would simply say to the mods, well done, thank you & keep it up.
  4. Very impressive! Good to see more NCC / UTA stuff here.
  5. And Chapters in Dublin has reopened…
  6. Spudfan and Lambeg Man; I could not agree more. On principle, even without such experiences as above, I would rather do without something than order it from this parasitic, blood-sucking company. I never pass by any opportunity to put people off making Bezos and his revolting ilk any richer. He should be taxed at 99.999%. That's MY rant over.
  7. Anything that ISNT Amazon is good….
  8. As far as IRM are concerned, the more bombardment the better!
  9. BosKonay, THEY run on the cloud. You run on the silver lining! Yes, RMWeb is completely unusable due to constant pop-ups.
  10. My home insurance is currently up for renewal. Asked them their opinion in covering stuff worth (figure plucked from the air) €15,000. Answer: depending on excess and company provider, anything from €40 to €100+ extra on top of normal household quote. (My other half doesn’t read this, so I hope that I’m safe….)
  11. Precisely! Common sense, too. Try telling that, though, to Wee Doddsy (remember him?), Sir Sanctimonious Jeffrey, Curry Gregory and Edwin the Poots, with sawdust interior…..
  12. Very many thanks, Broadstone, much appreciated!
  13. Unless Boris Mogg-Farage and the rabid right wing press, the Daily Fail & Tory Telegraph decide to “take back control” by leaving NATO! That’s a serious collection of letter boxes! In a museum somewhere?
  14. What about the An Post boxes you can buy for outgoing postal packages - they look very good value. I wonder if our colleagues in the Land of the Red Letter Boxes have a similar type of system?
  15. Every time I receive something via relatives who live in the United Kingdom of Brexitstan, the resultant deprivation of Mr Johnston’s coffers of a few cents makes my day……
  16. I had considered this in the past and two possibilities came to mind. 1. A branch from Athenry to somewhere not far away - maybe Loughrea if the Midland branch hadn’t been built? - owned by one company with the other having operational rights. Not beyond the wit of mankind, as at one time the MGWR had permission to operate from Athenry to Limerick. 2. The Birr - Portumna line is reopened as part of a Loughrea - Portumna - Birr line - this was actually proposed.
  17. Don’t let him near it or he might burn it down when he’s killed a few more teenage brides!!! Seriously, excellent work.
  18. I think diesels always look amazingly great when sidelined in favour of shteam…..!
  19. Steam is the answer. Must be a few J15s, D16s and K2s in the depths of the loco shed. Now where’s the IRM six-wheelers & tin vans….
  20. Will it include the sounds of swearing drivers & fitters, and have a tiny mechanism to spew oil and diesel fuel out of cracked pipes?
  21. I’ve only one recollection of travelling on those 207-hauled excursions, and the highlight being Senior getting sticky buns for myself and sister-the-elder en route….. and the old side corridor first we were in….
