Or maybe May or October this year, who knows?
We live in hope, Mr D.

Lifting the shell is the easy part. Removing the interior of the cab isn't as straight forward.

Looks great, Noel. That has really improved what was already a fantastic model.
I ordered two sets of these a few years back. But after numerous broken promises, gave up in the end. Pity.

Watching the rugby today. On RTE Jacqui Hurley in the studio had on pink trousers for the Wales/Italy match, yet for the France/England match she is wearing black trousers.
Must of had an "accident."

I must confess that I AM one of the clowns (talking more about myself than anybody else, with the benefit of hindsight) who paid over the odds.
As I said, it's a personal choice, and if someone wants something that much, fair play to them. I can think of worse things to be spending it on.

It actually IS too bad, when you realise that it's a locomotive, the same as any other, inside an 071 Class shell. The MM 071 is a gorgeous model, don't get me wrong, but under the skin, it's no different to an IRM A Class or a Bachmann Class 37. Once somebody is happy paying €150 for what's inside the body and another €150 to €250 for the body itself, if we break things down, then good for them.
Got to agree Mr D. They are all great models, but nowhere near what some are forking out for them.
It's none of my business what someone wants to spend their hard earned on, and I understand people missed out when these were released first, but personally, I just wouldn't pay it. I think the most I paid for an 071 in the past was €170, to a member on here. And even then, they were getting harder to pick up.

The 201 in particular, possibly because it wasn't penis shaped like the previous GM diesels, had a much bigger, more powerful presence.

Right, this is just getting weird now.

Apologies but nothing seems seriously wrong with these models to my eye.
Well, other than you referring to them as peat briquettes numerous times. And the Lima version.. a door stop, if I'm not mistaken.

Excuse me but is this thread about the successful IRM A class locomotives ?
Nice one, Noel. Needed to be said.

Attempts to create the aroma of Guinness and egg sandwiches also failed to surmount the obvious health and welfare issues.
Ah yes, the classic combo. I'm well known for my love of both at family gatherings. Although, anyone standing within two feet of me tend to disperse as the night goes on. Can't think why.

Very nice.
Do they open on hinges?
As far as I can remember, the kit is designed to have working hinges. I've just added these as a cosmetic detail.

Fantastic result. Loving the small details added. The redundant point rodding and trunking look the business.

That just looks, so right. Really bulks up the appearance of the loco. Very impressive.

RPSI Operations
in What's happening on the network?

Great to have the RPSI diesel outing back, with the East to West railtour yesterday.
The day started with 071 on duty arriving into Connolly hauling the Cravens.
081 took over from here, as we headed to Dundalk.
It was then back to Connolly, where 071 resumed duties for the trip West to Galway.
And finally, back to Dublin.
As always, a fantastic day out.
