036 makes some noise as it works a Shelton abbey-Sligo laden fertiliser.
Have to say, the ferts look really well behind the A class. They're made for each other.

All wagons carried patches like that, at one time or another. Usually, it would be seen where a running or works number was painted over and applied elsewhere. I'd assume it's the same in this case.

Locomotive 187 with a short set of Cravens (1544, 1529, 1521) and BR Gen. Van (3192) having recently left Heuston North for the short trip to lnchicore.
Fantastic stuff, Rob. Love the attention to detail.

That's a seriously impressive collection of buses. Some absolute gems in there.

I have just realized that at some point the 201s that were in the Intercity Silver/Green have had their undercarriage painted into a dark grey rather than the former ghost grey. Was the reasoning similar to why the A Class were quickly put into a different livery due to the ghost grey being very vulnerable to dirt?
Makes sense longterm. The underside picks up dirt quite quickly, and was really noticeable on the 201 due to the light colour, especially on freshly painted locos.
The darker grey, actually suits the overall livery better in my opinion.

Fantastic looking model, guys. Really like the etched walkway and ladder. Yet again, another superbly detailed wagon.
Such a pity these didn't run that little bit longer. I would have loved to see them being hauled by a pair of IR livreried Bo-Bo's.

They're still running today, after what, 25 or 30 years? They've carried about three liveries. They've been everywhere on the network. So, they would appeal to (and sell to) a massive number of modellers.
Yep, still knocking about, close on 30 years now. I've never been a huge fan of DMU's, but have always had a soft spot for the 2600. When they were introduced into service around 94/95, they blended in quite well with everything that was still running at time. Still plenty of freight and loco hauled passenger services back then.

Agreed, it IS bashing of everybody elses opinions, constantly at that, and it's inappropriate.
It also leads to conflict. When people are goaded enough with the constant knocking of their opinions, they'll eventually retalliate and lash out in return, possibly lambasting the old stuff from before their time, that they don't remember.
Then, one posts a survey to ask what people would buy, multiple choice options, and because of ones own negativity, those who may have bought stuff from previous eras now say no way, only my era.
Spot on, Dave.

Really nice work. Masking is one of them jobs that can be quite tedious at times. But is always worth the effort when you achieve results like that.

Yes, I know what you mean and agree 100%. It can actually look in some of the pics as a typical Kerry “about to rain” distant sky, maybe viewed across a stretch of barren bogland.
It will always change, depending on the angle of shot, and light in the room at the time. But, there's definitely a dull greyish appearance to it in certain pics. Works really well.

Now, an issue. The background is (left) a backscene which many of us got free with a Christmas railway mag (can’t recall which). It looks a bit rich - or “tropical” - for the type of location in which “Dugort” is meant to be situated. On the right is bare wall. If anything, this almost suits the thing better, as it looks like a gloomy “about-to-rain” wide western sky.
Really like the colour on the wall. Works well with the bleak surroundings in my opinion. That's meant as a compliment by the way, Jonathan!

Wow, you and Noel have something in common!
How dare you even suggest that, Dave. Me and you are going to have a falling out.

Thank Goodness nobody has yet contemplated producing toy 22k yo-yo DMUs (ie literally pointless train operations).
What's the issue if one was produced? Some like them, most probably don't. As with all things Noel, if you don't like something, you don't have to buy it.
I have all of the Spice Girls albums. Again, some like them, most probably don't.
Edit: Ignore the above. I wasn't supposed to admit to that.

These are seriously tasty. I'll definitely be banging an order in. Hopefully, you're right, Dave. We might just be edging closer to the Holy Grail of two-tone 90's Dublin Bus.
Jasus, I've visions of where it could go from there. Let's just say, I've soiled myself thinking about it.
